“Thought I’d give the place a try after my work out and it definitely didn’t disappoint. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by staff with a smile on their face. As well as good music and a nice and chill environment while waiting for your beverage. I had a hard time choosing out of the many good options but the nice young lady named Tayla was working offered input and helped describe each drink and what they contained. Amazing first experience and definitely will be going again.“

But the prices here are insane. It's like $12 for a 16ounce. And more ($15) for other drinks at the same size!!!!

I've helped family members setup smoothie shops on Seattle in the past and we usually do $10 for 24ounces at least.

I understand the economy is bad but not every patron on Newbury street has old Boston back bay money.

I think if they decrease prices by a $1.50, they can be supremely successful with more customer traffic.“

“I ordered the waterworks juice which has beet juice and carrot juice, etc. It was fine. Priced about the same as any other juice shop, which is expensive. I also ordered the avocado toast, which was pretty much guacamole spread on toast. I got it on the sourdough bread which was nice and fresh. It tasted fine. Definitely overpriced at eight dollars for a slice of bread with some guacamole on it. Once again, the pricing is aligned with most other shops, but everything cost outrageous prices nowadays. I probably won’t go here again just because who the heck can afford eating out. It just seems everyone price gouges no matter where you go. You’ve got the money to spare. They do make a nice juice.“

“Stopped in for a smoothie and was immediately won over by the incredible art and was equally pleased with the Boost smoothie! Tasted great—peanut butter and banana is always a winner, it was liquid enough to go through the (nice wide) straw but not too thin. Will definitely be going back next time I’m in the area!“

“Mary Chungus loves this place. I love the shakes. Though, the servants are rather peculiar. There used to be such superstars. There was one girl that used to have long, beautiful, and dark hair. Another who was so good at making my shake, i think she had a baby, but i havent seen either of my original girls. All i see is reminiscences of the past. The past that could be the future of powerhouse nutrition. Everytime i go now, my shake is either a 7/10 or just milky water. Bring back the 10/10s. Make powerhouse great again. Also, recent smells of cigarettes are off putting. Though i will keep returning because i love my shakes. As a bodacious gal, its important to get protein gains. “For picky Kiddos…You all may not know you can request hard scoop, which is your traditional scoop of ice cream before it’s made with the machine the New Zealand way. The staff are soooo accommodating and friendly. Color changing spoons are a Bonus.“

“I've now gone 3 times in the past two weeks and tried different flavor mochi donuts, taro milk tea, popcorn chicken and half half Korean potato corn dog. everything is super fresh, not overly sweet and flavorful. the Korean corn dog and popcorn chicken were super crispy on the outside but not overcooked, and packed with flavor. they are my new favorite restaurant in the area, and easily my "go to" for something quick.“

There are few mid-range food businesses in Boston where you feel like you're actually getting your money's worth it and not just subsidizing the very-high-cost-of-living in this city. Cocoleaf/Akoko Cafe is one of those places. I've had dessert, drink and food items from across their menu and every time I've been blown away by how unexpectedly fresh, unique and delicious the flavors are. The portions are generous and fair for the price. I don't think I've ever had something subpar from here, and if they do mix up my order, the staff are quick to correct and replace it. This place is a hidden gem for anyone who doesn't live in the neighborhood. I will never stop patronizing this establishment for as long as they keep doing what they are doing.“
