“We stopped in just before 5pm on a Saturday and thankfully we did because the place got busy quickly. There was plenty of staff working to handle the night. One of us ordered a 2 meat tray with brisket & pork belly. The chosen sides were basement potato salad and Mac & cheese. The other ordered a pulled pork tray. Sides were coleslaw and Mac & cheese. Both had sweet tea and shared a bucket of biscuits w honey butter. The best part was the pulled pork. It was wicked moist and flavorful. I feel the brisket was a bit dry, but there are 3 sauces on the side. We loved the biscuits with honey butter and the Mac & cheese was good. Our meal came to about $77, before tip. The staff are mostly efficient but our waiter could have been better. He didn't ask what we wanted to drink when he greeted us, he wasn't very personable in comparison to another waiter who gave very detailed descriptions of the specials when speaking to a table next to us. We asked for a sweet tea refill and didn't get it. Seemed sporadic, but not new. We'd go back though to try it again.“

“This was a catering experience with Blackstrap for a department holiday party. Melissa worked closely with us to ensure that we had the right amount of food and menu for our luncheon. Payment was easy and the pricing very reasonable. The delivery was made by the chef himself and they set up everything with care. The food was fantastic and everyone absolutely raved about the cornbread (that is something that should absolutely be added/included with any order). All around a wonderful experience and a highly recommended caterer.“

“Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try. Don’t hesitate to ask a question, you will definitely get an answer. :)“

“This food was amazing. The sides were fantastic, seasoned, brilliantly formed. The cornbread tasted otherworldly, excellent! I was disappointed with the ribs, weren't tender and very rough. The brisket was mighty good although some of it was dry, other pieces weren't. I give it a 4 stars because the sides were amazing, however the meat is supposed to be their glory and I was disappointed. Were in the tenderism era, this BBQ place has to do better with their meats. “I recently tried out this restaurant today!!!! for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. He made sure to give a friendly hello! Shout -out to tje light-skinned man at the front desk. He was so welcoming! The ribs were okay You know how much I love good food, so I had to give this place a 4 star rating for the ribs! Some end parts over cooked but overall it was okay And the cornbread was very good I couldn’t resist sharing my experience on my TikTok and Instagram pages.
