Very authentic! we've been here many times and have never been disappointed. i really enjoy the balance of flavor without being too overwhelming or salty.

The food here at Chef Zhang's is amazing! The minced pork black bean noodles have an amazing texture and the dishes have great presentation. They have great spice levels and you can ask for your food to be less or extra spicy. The owner is super friendly and service is great.

Everything was absolutely delicious! They can make the food spicy or non-spicy, just the way you like it. The service was excellent, and everyone was very welcoming and hospitable. Everything was top-notch, but most importantly, the food was very, very tasty. Highly recommend!

This was my first time trying Chef Zhang’s, and it definitely won’t be my last. The Stir-Fried Beef was incredible—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and unlike anything I’ve had at other Chinese restaurants in the Boston area.

The scallion pancakes were crispy and delicious, and the green beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff was welcoming, the restaurant was spotless, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations.

It’s refreshing to find a restaurant that serves authentic Hunan cuisine while still making newcomers feel comfortable. If you’re visiting Harvard Square or live in Cambridge, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

They calculate the tip based on the after-tax total, which is unreasonable. Customers shouldn’t be tipping on tax. Very disappointing.

Most authentic Hunan cuisine you can find in Boston area. Good and fast service. Everything flavorful and perfectly seasoned. We loved it, especially the house special beef. Has fun Chinese-style cocktails as well.

Highly recommend if you're passing through the Harvard area.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a server unilaterally add a tip without even asking—it’s truly outrageous. On top of that, her attitude wasn’t very good either. I honestly cannot fathom how she had the audacity to just go ahead and tack on a 20% tip on her own initiative.

My local favorite for chinese food. Everything is so authentic and not too expensive. The portions are good sized and I would definitely recommend their specialty dish and the cauliflower dish.

The owner/waitress is extremely rude and food is very slow. It took over an hour for my food to be ready. Unbelievable

Ordered takeout and when I was paying, when I picked it up, they automatically clicked on 20% tip without letting me change it. Would have liked to have the option to choose since I didn't dine in.
