“Toscanini's has been my favorite ice cream spot for over 20 years. Even as I've moved around and lived in other cities, I always make a point to visit whenever I'm back in the Boston area. But a recent experience cemented my loyalty for life.

On Presidents' Day, our family showed up around 5 pm, not realizing the shop was closed for the holiday. When we couldn't open the door, we started knocking, thinking it was just stuck. Gus, the owner, came out and let us know they were closed for the day, but then asked us what we were looking for. We told him we were hoping to grab a pint, and he told us to wait just a moment. A few minutes later, he came back with a big bag full of different pints and let us walk away with two of them, suggesting we could come back and pay another day when they were actually open (or perhaps he didn't care!). We came back and paid two weeks later.

“Every week when I take my dog on a long walk we pass Weesh so I can get my weekly fix of the Berry Pop Tart. Not only does it taste fresh and amazing, but the owner and staff there are beyond kind and friendly. This is a true gem in Roslindale Village“

But Emily, the manager, and her father John, the owner, did something I truly didn't expect — they made it work anyway. They went out of their way to make sure we still got everything we needed, and on Easter Sunday of all days. That kind of customer care is rare. It would have been so easy for them to simply say "sorry, we're closed" — but instead they showed up for us in a way we won't forget. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Our pies were fresh and perfectly made, and the carrot birthday cake — a special request from the birthday boy himself — was absolutely stunning. “Party Favors is a Brookline landmark and has been a go-to place for cakes for my family since I was a child. I just ordered a cake for my mother’s birthday from them and the online ordering process could not have been easier. The cake came out perfectly, was available at the pick up time requested and was customized for our needs. Prices are very fair and the cakes are delicious- my mother received another cake that was 3 times the price and she preferred the Party Favors cake. Highly recommended.“

“Delectable Desires is an absolute gem of a local bakery! The baked goods are fantastic, but what truly makes this place special is the owner, Carlene. She is charming, delightful to talk to, and incredibly helpful and informative when it comes to planning special orders in advance. I have ordered a variety of pies from her - the bourbon pecan and strawberry rhubarb are my personal favorites. My family, who are very critical eaters, loves her pies so much that they ask me to pick up her pies for special occasions. Most recently, I tried the blueberry muffins, and they were perfection: soft and fluffy on the inside with a wonderful sugary crunch on the outside. It is such a joy to have a high-quality bakery like this in the neighborhood. I’m already looking forward to ordering a cake next, as she has so many enticing flavors available. It’s wonderful to find a place where the talent in the kitchen is matched by the kindness behind the counter. We’re lucky to have her in the neighborhood.“

“In reference to Ben and Gerry’s, located at the Prudential Center,, Boston, MA, a young employee named Maggie went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. I took my children and grandson for ice cream on Thursday, July 17, in the afternoon.
Aside from Maggie’s professionalism and beautiful courtesy in serving us (often a rare combination in the service industry) I watched her deal with an incredibly rude customer with such graciousness and self control. The customer was completely out of line and I was so impressed with how Maggie de-escalated the situation and kept her professional composure, especially for such a young woman. Maggie is a credit to the company and I would highly recommend this establishment based on the character of this young woman. I hope she is recognized for her invaluable contribution to Ben and Gerry’s, Prudential Center, Boston.“
