“My wife and I were in Wakefield to purchase car and when we were finished we realized we had not eaten all day. We found this gem of a diner. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I started with the beef stew. it was excellent. It was not to salty, you could tell it was homemade the flavor brought me back to childhood. My wife started with the chicken and rice soup which she said was also fantastic, once again not to salty. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy. The gravy was outstanding. My wife had the teriyaki chicken stir-fry which was delicious. We needed the meal by brining home 6 raisin oatmeal cookies. I would highly recommend North Ave. Diner if you are in the area.“

And to see that this place has been around for quite some time, I'm glad I eventually had the experience. Food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. Great location, right across from Forest Hills T station. Free street parking as well. Their menu has many options to choose from. Staff was pleasant and catered to every request I had. If you live in or around Forest Hills, make sure to give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.“

I also ordered a side of Chocolate Chip Pancakes🥞. It was great, food was inexpensive as well, staff customer service was great and we even came back the next day with more family and friends! “Food is decently priced compared to the area. The Carne Asada plate is not their forte but they do have great burgers and omelets. No truck parking. You can park on the side of the road but it's not that convenient. They do have delivery however and they're fast and friendly. If you're delivering to the Boston Market or the New England Market then hit this place up for a nice freshly cooked meal.“

“Second time here within 6 months. Last time they were good and I vowed I would give them another try. Last time there was no table service, I sat at the counter then. The place was lively and the food was decent. This time I ordered veggie omelet with shelled eggs and beef sausage with home fries and grits on the side, plus coffee. Then I sat down.

Prompt service from Ms. Edna..she's on point. She's personable, has great multitasking skills, and tries to anticipate your wants in a timely fashion. The only issue I had was with the home fries. Some of them were undercooked and you need to use a generous amount of salt/ pepper for the grits.

If I'm in the area, I will stop in for a decent, generously proportioned meal. Breakfast or lunch. Solid choice“

My Wife LOVED the chicken stir fry and she is picky about food I was impressed by my contractor's breakfast. “10/30/25 Thursday. Came here today for an early lunch. Haven’t been here since a decade ago it’s been remodeled it’s so bright and clean and modernized! When I came here it was dark and dime lit. The place was clean welcoming and the staff was friendly! I got an order of the fish and chips and coleslaw, instead of fries I got onion rings. The fish was cooked perfectly it wasn’t oily and the fish was not made with a heavy batter it was a balanced amount. The onion rings also cooked excellent fresh tasting and both dishes tasted like they used fresh grease not day old. My server was attentive, friendly busy, but always kept an eye out if I needed anything! Great customer service! For dessert got the key lime pie. Great tasting dessert cake was moist rich frosting but not to sweet. Very please with everything the service and the food will definitely come back to try more in the menu! Love the new look of the place very warm vibe inside.“

“Came in from out of town for appointments and stopped in for a late dinner. Got breakfast because it’s quick and easy and I’m normally a very picky eater but I loved home fries and corn beef hash. The waitress was quick and friendly. Would recommend to anyone in the area.“

“Solid, classic diner spot for breakfast. My wife and I visited for the first time this morning. The decor has an old-fashioned diner vibe—simple, cozy, and welcoming. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we found a spot after a loop around the block.

The food was good overall. Nothing blew us away, but the classic breakfast staples were prepared well. I was impressed by the fruit cup—larger and fresher than what you usually see at similar places. I ordered the cinnamon French toast, which wasn’t overly sweet but was filling and tasty. I also got a side of hash browns and bacon. The bacon was perfectly crispy (the only way bacon should be, in my opinion), and the hash browns were surprisingly crisp despite not being fried.

My wife tried the chicken and waffles, which were fine—basically a standard waffle with a couple of chicken tenders on top. The chicken was a bit tough, and the waffle was pretty basic. She mentioned that it might have been better with an egg on top, like an eggs Benedict, to tie it all together.

Overall, this seems like a solid spot for a classic diner breakfast. Eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, and omelets are probably safe bets. We’ll definitely be back. It was also a nice touch when the kitchen made a point to thank us on our way out.“

I just had surgery on my hand and I mentioned to my cousin how an omelette would be easier to eat then picking up a sandwich. They are CASH ONLY, but they do have an ATM at the entrance. Food was delicious but a tad bit pricey. Definitely recommend, especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
