“The menu offered a wide selection of breakfast classics, from fluffy pancakes to hearty omelets, catering to every craving. I opted for their signature eggs Benedict, and I was blown away by the perfection of each component - from the velvety hollandaise to the perfectly poached eggs. Every bite was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate.“
“Old school diner vibes. Old school diner price.I got the house special omelet (feta, olives, onion, tomato, greek sausage), coffee and a side of chorizo sausage. Didn't have to eat again for another 10 hours. $25 with tip. Outrageously good. I'll be going back. Only issue is it's cash only, which I didn't realize till I got my check lol.“
“Old school diner feel but clean and servers are attentive. Food is consistent and quality is better than most other diners around. If you're coming on the weekend, come early, before 10am for less wait. On the weekdays, they're busy too but not as packed so should be able to get a table with little to no wait. They post specials and uses seasonal ingredients.“
“Just what you would expect. Delicious burgers, hot dogs, fries and more. No frills. Sit at the counter in an old train car. Service is friendly and old school. Order when ready, watch them cook on an old and cool griddle, and serve you fresh food. Enjoy coming back for easy, delicious, and affordable food.Parking: Some spots in front and on side. Otherwise paid parking on street and lot“
“I had a wonderful breakfast experience at Rox Diner. The place was cozy and inviting, with a friendly staff and a great menu. I ordered the South Beach omelette, which was made with egg whites, spinach, tomato, and Swiss cheese. It came with fresh fruit and organic yogurt and granola instead of home fries and toast. It was light, fluffy, and delicious. My friend had the Flatiron Benny, which was a huge portion of steak, eggs, and hollandaise sauce. He said it was tender, juicy, and satisfying. The coffee was hot and strong, and the service was fast and attentive. We both agreed that Rox Diner is one of the best breakfast spots in the area, and we can't wait to come back and try more dishes. Rox Diner is a must-try for anyone who loves comfort food made with love.“
“Rewriting my review because the place has changed hands and changed menus. Pleasantly surprised to see that brunch was still on the menu, and even more pleasantly surprised to see these awesome Indian brunch fusion dishes. We got the butter chicken eggs Benedict and the masala chai French toast. It was super fun and delicious, definitely considering becoming a regular. My only regret is that the portions have shrunk somewhat since the previous owners.“
“Helens was an absolute beautiful breakfast. We stopped in only because it was close to a booked store and it shared my sister's name but it was a pleasant surprise. The coffee tasted good and the lunch was even better. Out waitress was so sweet to and very caring.Parking: Parking was easiest across the street on the street.“
“Great little greasy spoon for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, with us favoring the former two. Atmosphere/Ambience: unassuming 80s-style diner. Wonderful step back in time. Almost all bar seating with 70s-80s style stools and a few two person high-tops. Lots of photos of regular customers, sponsored youth sports teams, and celebrities who've visited. Tons of laminated pics of food and chalk/white board style listing of items. Service: Quick. Actually very quick. Sometimes are some barking of orders and is a fast-paced show to see. They definitely have their method and it works. Very customer-friendly. Lots of people and local blue collar workers showing up for pick-up, plenty of first-name basis customers. Food: Unassuming and just good. It's what you'd want from a diner. Not a hipster nuevo take on a diner. Just classic. The breakfast combos are great. The omelets nice. Food sometimes not giant portions but the prices are low! Coffee is fine. Price: Also stuck in a cheaper (simpler?) time. A big draw when considering what you get for the mulah. Tend to come back fairly regularly. It services its purpose!“
“A real original breakfast place when so many recently closed. Excellent food, attentive staff. I love this place! No credit cards accepted, bring cash (an ATM is close)Vegetarian options: All breakfast options without meatParking: Strip mall parkingWheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, no steps. Somewhat challenging to navigate between tables.“
“I ate here for breakfast with my family on a trip to Cambridge last week. Andy's is reasonably priced, old school place with a simple menu serving diner comfort food. The staff was friendly and most of the patrons appeared to be regulars from the neighbourhood.“
“Local breakfast/lunch joint. Been a part of Watertown landscape forever!Great food, fast courteous service and wicked good prices! This is a cash only establishment.Had the corn beef hash with 2 eggs (they don't do poached on the weekends); my wife had the egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. Both super and ample servings!“
“We were visiting relatives in Watertown and decided to try this place for lunch. It was very busy on a Friday at lunchtime but we were quickly seated. The menu is vast and has everything from salads to burgers to sandwiches and even breakfast. Our party opted for a reuben sandwich, a burger, a Cobb salad, and an Asian chicken salad. Service and price were good“
“This is a hidden gem. The prices are good, the food is good and the customer service experience is nothing short of remarkable. Everyone there treats customers more like “friends” then “customers.” The place has a nostalgic-feeling to it and looks like an old-school diner and I absolutely LOVE IT! Where the heck can you have a full breakfast these days for $10.65 (Scott’s Special)? A Starbucks Venti and Sausage sandwich running north of $10.Visit this diner, you won’t regret and they will treat you like a rockstar.“
“Hands down one of the best Chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten , chicken is fresh veggies look great fries are not salted and cooked to perfection keep up the good work , recommended to call ahead for take out busy place during lunch oh and cash only “
“Really prototypical diner! Just incredibly busy, but sound bites is currently undergoing renovations so that’s to be expected. Got the #7 special- good value, decent food! They didn’t have any black tea, which was a disappointment, but I’ll give grace and assume they’d run out in the rush.“
“A nostalgic deli experience in Inman Square. As the oldest restaurant in Cambridge, S&S has cemented its status as a beloved local spot that serves a wide range of classic deli fares. l came here for lunch a few times and always had a satisfying experience.Among the appetizers, the Chopped Liver was my favorite. Although it was unexpectedly paired with pineapple and melon slices - a combination that didn't entirely complement the inherent sweetness of the liver spread - it was still enjoyable when paired with crackers and red onions. Bathed in their signature sauce, the S&S Fried Shrimp was also good. The sauce leaned more towards sweet rather than spicy, but the jumbo shrimp was still nice and crispy. The Seared Tuna Salad was fairly basic, but with its generous portions, it was an ideal choice for a hearty meal. Corned Beef Reuben came with perfectly toasted marble rye bread, and the corned beef itself was solid. One of the biggest perk of S&S is their own free parking lot, but empty spaces might be hard to come by during peak lunch hours.Overall, a great spot that provides a slice of the city’s culinary history with the timeless appeal of a classic deli. If you’re looking for a comforting meal with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, I highly recommend giving them a try.Parking: Free street parking lot (enter via Hampshire st)Paid parking lot next to Olé (Springfield st)Paid street parking on Cambridge St & Hampshire st“
“Nestled amidst the charming streets of Jamaica Plain, MA, lies the Forest Hill Diner, a haven of warmth and nostalgia that beckons travelers and locals alike. Here, every sip of coffee is an invitation to journey back to simpler times, evoking memories of cozy mornings and hearty conversations. Served in classic Styrofoam cups with traditional pull-up lids, the coffee speaks of timeless quality and care. But the experience extends beyond the steaming brew. Forest Hill Diner’s pancakes are a symphony of flavors, each bite a delicate balance of fluffy texture, creamy butter, and sweet syrup. With every indulgent mouthful, diners are transported to a realm of pancake perfection, where every bite is a celebration of culinary craftsmanship.Yet, it is not merely the food that sets this diner apart. It is the intangible warmth that permeates its atmosphere, the genuine hospitality of its staff that makes every visitor feel like family. From the moment one steps through the door, they are enveloped in smiles and kindness, welcomed into a sanctuary of comfort and camaraderie. In essence, Forest Hill Diner transcends its role as a mere eatery; it is a sanctuary where the harmonious blend of good food, great coffee, and genuine hospitality creates an unforgettable dining experience, leaving a lasting impression on all who pass through its doors.“
“The perfect old school diner. The coffee is great, my eggs were poached perfectly and the corn beef hash was exactly what I needed. My server, Chris, was super quick, friendly and made great recommendations - most importantly, she refilled my coffee before I could even ask. I’m so happy to see a local business thrive and am excited to come back soon.“
“The food was tasty. The steak cooked to perfection and the homemade corned beef hash has great a great amount of meat so flavorful I’ll be definitely coming back. This was my first time here and they definitely didn’t disappointDietary restrictions: Gluten free options and they care to ask you if it’s allergy“
“The decir is a little dated, but not raggedy at all. We were seated immediately. The staff was professional and polite. I enjoyed my veggie pizza and my husband's onion rings. The total for 3 people was $35. Would we do this again, yes. This is definitely a family restaurant. I have a bias for local, neighborhood restaurants, and the Pleasant Cafe is definitely in that category. This is a casual spot.Parking: They have a huge parking lot (by Roslindale standards) directly across from the restaurant.“
“Great classic breakfast foods, coffee is hot and bottomless. Service is friendly, feels like family. Diner in the classic sense; small tables, wait staff constantly moving, smiling and conversant.Kid-friendliness: They treat kids very well, not as if invisible.“
“Do yourself a favor and get the Irish Breakfast plate at Martin’s. It’s absolutely delicious and probably the best breakfast dish that I’ve ever had. Eggs cooked to perfection, which by itself is a rare find. The black and white pudding was packed with flavor, really delicious. The sausages were fantastic. The homefries have an amazing seasoning, definitely the best I’ve ever had. Overall just an amazing breakfast. Thanks Martin’s!“
“Nice place conveniently open till 3pm on Sundays and 9pm during the week. The breakfast was decent and they had real maple syrup as an option. Food came out great nothing was over cooked or burnt. We were satisfied with the amount of food and price for specials. There is a small parking lot in the back that made finding a spot convenient.Parking: Small parking lot out back but street parking around area was available.“
“This local breakfast spot deserves a solid 4-star rating. The service is impressively fast, ensuring a quick and efficient start to the day. The food, while decent, may not be extraordinary but still hits the spot for a satisfying breakfast. What makes it particularly appealing is the reasonable pricing, offering value for money. If you're looking for a no-fuss breakfast option with efficient service and affordable prices, this restaurant is a reliable choice.“
“Classic neighborhood diner with a Greek theme. Prices are a bit steep but portions are incredibly generous. Open 7am to 3pm so plan accordingly. Also plan to have leftovers for another meal at home!Parking: 2 hour street parking free, usually within a blockKid-friendliness: Kid friendly staff, welcoming“
“This place is a local gem! It's a perfect spot to go with family or with friends. Food: I got the corned beef hash with potatoes. The hash was good flavor-wise but I wish the beef was portioned a little smaller so it could blend better. The eggs were solid but eggs are pretty solid everywhere. 7.5/10. Ambiance: So cute and there are just such great vibes here! The staff is very friends and it's a lovely local place. We went on a weekend and it was packed so you know it's reliable 8.5/10. Price: Pricing is pretty standard for a brunch place. My meal was about $15 and I was decently full 8/10. Would definitely go ahead if I'm in the area!“
“Cozy and spacious atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was great too, they have good classic omelettes and one of the best eggs benedicts I’ve tried. The Greek french toast was also tender and not too sweet.Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp that leads to the restaurant“
“This little place just blends in and you'll drive past it if you aren't careful. And that would be a shameThere isn't much to speak of. It doesn't look like much when you step inside. It's small and maybe a little too tight. But sometimes those are the best places. Our server was great and had a great attitude. Some basic breakfast stuff was out of stock, like bagels (who runs out of bagels??), but she smiled through it. It happens. The food came out pretty quick and was excellent, and the coffee... hot, as it should be. The price was fair, the food was good and served quickly.Don't take my word for it, stop on in and check them out. Boston's best kept secret.Parking: $20 extortion lot around the corner“
“Small old timey diner with good basic breakfast fair. We were a party of 2 adults and 3 kids and were seated right away. They only have small booths and bar seating so don't show up with more than 4-5 people or you'll be out of luck. Kids french toast and pancakes came out really quickly and were enjoyed! The turkey club was nothing amazing but hit the spot. Total bill was very reasonable for what we ordered. Will come again!“
