Mae Asian Eatery is a lovely place to enjoy good appetizers, mains, and great service. The Thai tea is not too milky and delicious, while the shumai and gyoza are very good. Customers have tried a variety of mains, including spicy fried rice, "fat kid at heart," and drunken noodles, though some felt the noodle dishes could be more flavorful. The staff is accommodating, and the restaurant offers delicious vegetarian options that are clearly labeled.
However, some customers have noticed a change in the past year, feeling the food has lost some of its charm and no longer has the "wow" factor it once did. The restaurant's policy of charging a $50 fee for no-show reservations has also been seen as an unnecessary frustration spilling out into the public. While the restaurant is generally considered a great lunch spot, it may not be the most kid-friendly establishment.
