Went in at 12.30. Finally
Got seated at 1 pm. 29 minute wait. Lunch arrived 48 minutes later. No apologies or discount offered . Wasn’t even that great to be fair. Very dissatisfied with the whole fiasco. Being so late and made us all late for the rest of the day, You would think a little more effort to say sorry would have been made. “It’s all made it order. “That was the excuse. 48 mins to fry a piece of fish and a burger. I don’t think so! 😳
Overall it wasn't the worst restaurant we've ever been to but there were a few things today when we had lunch there that could be improved upon
The server came over. welcomed us and told us the lunch specials.

Champney's Restaurant & Tavern features a tasteful menu with options for every palate, including lunch specials, a good sandwich, and truffle fries. The atmosphere is exceptional, set in a beautifully maintained old New England building. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, doing everything they can to make guests feel welcome. The restaurant offers an interesting rendition of clam chowder with a lot of celery and a slightly sour taste. Their signature dish, the short rib, is so tender it can be cut with a fork, and they also have a good selection of wines by the glass. The margarita flight with three margaritas is a great way to start the meal, with strong and tasty drinks. Guests can enjoy a nice size bowl of clam chowder, and the beef short ribs served with mashed potatoes, zucchini, and shredded carrots are flavorful and moist. The Bailey's Affogato dessert, with Bailey's Irish Cream, vanilla ice cream, and espresso, is a standout treat. The friendly and personable staff, including waiters like Jonah S, make every visit enjoyable. While slightly pricey, it remains a great spot for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner or weekend getaway.
