Mouna’s Kitchen African • $$
1029 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester

“Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, the meal as well as the service; liked that you could order off the brunch or regular menu and that you could get some of the items as an appetizer or entree (just get the entree as you will wish you did), as others have said the cornbread is life. Somewhat small w/limited seating (but still comfortable), would suggest a reservation (open table). Will definitely return.“

“The best Somali food in town. Tried their chicken and rice - absolutely delicious, and they included Sambusa with my order ?FYI: Found the place inside MIT on the 2nd floor. Got a bit lost with maps, but called their number on Google, and they guided me in. The Google pics show another branch in East Boston( not sure if the East Boston spot is open atm ), but the new spot inside MIT is where it's at.“

“We were a party of three, and we opted to order the appetizer platter. Unfortunately, the server let us know that they didn't have a lot of what was on it (they only had meat pies and puff puff). We all ordered jollof rice, which was incredibly flavorful. I got the moi moi, talk about insanely delicious and the fried yam. The stew that came with it for dipping was again so good. My mum had the salmon, which she said was a little on the dry side, but still had a nice flavor. My daughter had the beef and fried plantains. She said it was delicious, and I concur that it was since I took a bite. The service was so so after we got our food. It could've been because it was a Friday night, and they had a lot of take out orders. The staff was nice and welcoming, though.

I highly recommend going to eat here. The food is very authentic and so full of flavor, and you won't break the bank.“

“Been ordering from RedRed a number of times now - sometimes during the day or late night. Maybe I’ve just been consistently lucky, but contrary to some these comments, I’ve been really enjoying their food so far! Jollof and turkey tail has been my go-to, even at 3am, and it’s been consistent. The one time something was missing in my order I messaged them about it and they addressed it, so at least it shows that they listen and take feedback well. I usually order through ChowNow since they have better prices than delivery apps and they also deliver up to 20 miles. I’d definitely recommend!“
