Backyard Taco Mexican • $
32 Winter St, Edgartown

“Food: I ordered a steak and short rib tacos with cilantro and guac. Surprisingly very good! I mean..I've had better ones from taco trucks here in LA but from a small town in Martha's Vineyard, it wasn't bad at all. If you want to get away from all the lobster roll and other seafood places, this is the place to go to. Their guac was a solid B, it had the right amount of lime/salt combo. I think it had minced garlic in there too. The chips were drizzled with some sort of spicier version of tajin. Service: service was great! All were very friendly Ambiance: they had a small area in the back with a few tables and a small area in the front as well. They also have $1 bills stapled all over the walls, commemorating different occasions from visitors all over the world, or at least those visiting MV. My bf, now fiancé, and I came here to eat some tacos after he proposed and of course after I said yes to him“

“The food here was great, and the portions were good-sized. Serive was also top-notch. There were a lot of margarita and other tequila selection in their menu. But we did not try them. We had quesadilla grande and fajitas along with chips and Pico. This was enough for 4 people.Pico was fresh and small in quantity compared to large bowl of chips. So we asked for extras salsa. The salsa was clearly store bought, not fresh, and again, it was a small cup. When we got the check, to my surprise, extra salsa was charged around $3. I've never seen any tex-mex place to charge for store bough salsa. But I highly recommend this place for lovely food. And not to mention, they are the only place who stays open late till 12 AM. When we visited at the end of March, all other restaurants closed around 9 pm.Ohh I almost forgot, don't forget to look at their wall for some funny quotes.Vegetarian options: They have a lot of options like burritos, quesadilla, and fajitas with veggie options. Highly recommend for vegetarians.“
