“One of the best Buffalo Chicken pizza recipes! If you love buffalo sauce, bacon, and can get down with blue cheese- it's 100% worth trying. We live about 30 minutes away but try to go at least every 1-2 months because their specialty pizzas are really excellent.”

“It's been a while since we have been in Great Barrington and some friends of ours recommended Soco creamery. They had lots of different flavors of ice cream including some that were made without dairy. I ordered a black raspberry dairyless one and it was really interesting, pretty sure it was a frozen yogurt flavor but still good!”

“They're doing the lord's work here. Ollie's in Kingston/Rosendale is the only other pizza shop in the HV that comes close. TV-VCR combo in the dining area completes the vibe check.”

“Wow!! The best Chicken Pot Pie I have ever had! I live in Stockbridge and grocery stores and other places will stock their bread(the brioche makes amazing French toast) and a few other items they make, but it’s really worth the trip to grab a slice, or a whole take & back pie(pizza or chicken pot). The staff is also super friendly.”

“Their new chef is next level, every aspect of our dinner was excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try their steak dish after trying the meat skewers. My husband’s monkfish was one of the best renditions we’ve had.”

“We had just booked our wedding venue in the Great Barrington area, and knew that many of our friends and family members would be arriving the night before and staying in Great Barrington. We wanted to throw a welcome party for everyone to get people mingling and having fun in a very casual and fun atmosphere. Cove Bowling and the Backstage Grill seemed absolutely perfect! I reserved the bowling lanes in April, and I was in contact with Robin about the food menu since the summer. She is phenomenal!!!!! We spoke on the phone many times… she’s so enthusiastic and ready to help and she had so much to offer. She and her daughter even decorated the tables for us, and went out of their way to help our guests give us a very sweet memento :) There were SOO many food options, and she was so accommodating to my guests with food allergies. We ended up with around 80 guests, and we ordered a bunch of pizzas, chicken tenders, wings, and fruit platters... plenty of food. Our guests opened their own tabs at the bar and compared to Boston/NY drink prices, they were happily surprised at how low their bar tabs were! The prices overall were super reasonable and I'm so happy that we chose to host our welcome party here!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating. Our friend w celiac had her own personal cauliflower crust pizza!”

“I happened upon Pixie driving through Great Barrington. I had not read reviews; I had no expectations. I ordered a spinach hand pie and a savory herb scone. Both were spectacular. I can only say the breads and desserts looked similarly delicious. I will be making special trips to Great Barrington to get more of these stellar treats!”

“From the customer experience, the warm ambiance, the great beer/wine/specialty cocktails and food quality, this place is a no-brainer! While I will say that $15.95 for a burger with no cheese is exorbitant and $2.00 to add Every extra is Very pricy, especially Cheese, the quality is beyond exceptional. From the bun, to the burger, sautéed onions and mushrooms and cheddar cheese, it was well worth it. Note - the onions and mushrooms were in the $2.00 each list, but I wasn't charged. They've recently become The Frog Restaurant, so maybe they'll look at these reviews and reconsider pricing over time. With most visits, I might consider removing a Star for that, however, this place deserves an Exception. If you're in their area, you deserve to sit down to a fantastic meal; you'll be happy you did; they have something for everyone. I made one mistake; they make their own desserts and the special was Lemon Cheesecake...and I forgot to order it...Argh! Congratulations to the new owners; you have something special there. P.S. - The owner stopped by and shook my hand and introduced himself and asked if he could have me email him the picture of my burger and drink that I took, to him. I happily did and he emailed me back and thanked me for my visit and hoped to see me again. I will happily drive 130 miles round trip to their restaurant again!”

“This may very well have been the best dining experience we have ever had. We were given a complimentary toast for our anniversary. Brandon was fantastic. He was busy, but on top of it. Very attentive and helpful. Gave great recommendations when asked. We started with a dozen oysters, they were so fresh and delicious. Then tried the french onion bread and it did not dissapoint. It was crusty and cheesey on the outsoft and gooey on the inside. My husband had the korean ribs and enjoyed every bite. I had the scallops and pork belly. This dish was incredible, it was served over creamed cauliflower and everything married together so perfectly. We ended things with the dessert from the specials menu and two cappuccino. An awesome finish to a truly wonderful dining experience. We will be back.”
“Super nice people, highest quality ciders. All in a beautiful, natural, peaceful orchard setting. Highly recommend.”

“Delicious lunch!! So happy that Once Upon a Table reopened for lunch hours now. My husband and I split a salad and the snapper. Absolutely delicious. High quality. And the service was delightful. She was so enthusiastic to see us and laughed with all patrons. Definitely a good change compared to the sometimes gloomy business owners and workers in the area.”

“I absolutely love this unique find. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The service was Swift and the food was excellent. A quaint little spot it was comfortable, and I quite enjoyed the music. Overall a great experience we didn't have any libation just the food and some water and everything was great. I highly recommend them as a restaurant. I'm not sure about the bar part, but going on what my experience was, I would imagine that's pretty good, too.”

“A nice spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Limited seating but large tables and neat nooks. Loved that it was dog friendly inside. The dill oil on the potato leek soup was heavenly but the Brie and fig jam baguette was only OK. Our coffee and dirty chai were tasty.”

“Had chimichangas and my husband had empanadas. Food was great and wait staff attentive and friendly. The only downside was the cocktails. We both had house margaritas and they were very light on the tequila. Will be back again”
“Could not have asked for a better local spot to find for our New Years Vacation. Bert and her regulars were warm, inviting, and hilarious, and treated us Boston tourists like family. The drinks were cheap and plentiful, the games super fun, and I even thrifted a lovely sweater and some old fashioned glasses. Would love to visit again!”

“There was only a single area of opportunity for this restaurant, and I mention it below. We've driven by this restaurant for years and years, and have always wanted to eat here. WOW, I'm glad we did. First of all, you are greeted by a wonderful man, who is teeming with charm and warmth--literally the best host you can imagine. I'm not sure if I heard a British accent, but wow, what an entrance and what a pleasant and charming man. We were seated right away at about 5:15, and within minutes the place filled up--every seat gone. We had driven from Litchfield, and it was raining and super foggy out there, and the drive felt like it lasted forever, but we felt so welcomed when we arrived. The fireplace was roaring and it warmed our bones, while the coziness immediately overtook us. The woman who seemed in charge of the restaurant, possibly the owner, was equally accommodating and made sure everyone was 100% comfortable, and that their tables were perfectly set. I watched her working and just knew this restaurant had it together like clockwork. They work so hard to make sure you feel like you're getting the best experience possible, and I appreciate that so much. Our server was equally wonderful and accommodating, and timed everything perfectly for us so we could enjoy my husband's birthday dinner. Everyone eating there seemed like locals, or from the Massachusetts area and were also excited to be sitting and eating there. I stared with a drink called "Jacques the Elder," made with Makers Mark, Lemon, Ginger beer, elderflower, and topped with a row of candied ginger for $14. Just mouth-watering. The server brought us some delicious Berkshire Bread Col sourdough and and breadsticks, accompanied by a feta and tomato purée, which was outstanding. For appetizers we had a prosciutto, burrata, and pear to start. When paired with the the sourdough bread, it was just delicious. All just well-prepared and fresh. For my husband's entree, he had a delicious pan-seared trout on a bed of mini pearlescent gnocchi that was sumptuous. This was not a regular menu item. I had a shrimp and spaghetti dish that was equally delicious with just the right amount of heat, but, there just wasn't enough Spaghetti in the dish to account for the $34 price tag. You can see the dish was very shallow, in the photos below. I asked for more bread and then dipping that in the delicious buttery Sauce. This didn't detract at all, but just another two forkfuls of pasta would have given me that important impression of value and abundance. Then the young man bused the table and used a scraper to make sure every crumb was gone, in preparation for dessert--pure service. We finished the dinner with cappuccinos, and a flourless chocolate cake and pistachio ice cream. The flourless cake just stuck to the roofs of our mouths, and the ice cream helped provide that creamy cold nutty contrast. What brilliant pairing. The entire evening was perfection. The kind of experience you start to miss before it's actually over. We drove home with jaws dropped, and commented on what a magical, cozy, and welcoming experience that was. Particularly, how it will be difficult to recreate again--but darn it, we will try. I highly recommend Old Mill, as a true staple of Southern Mass, as an enchanting dining experience, and truly delicious culinary triumph.”
