Boat House Grille Reviews
As a Newyorker. This is our 3 time here. Linda our hostess tonight. The food quality, price, mixed drinks, ladies get the ‘ pineapple drink, I forgot the name, . Really well balanced experience.
After ordering we had a nice half-loaf of brown bread with butter.
I ordered the baked scallops with onion rings and Yukon mashed potatoes. The scallops were tender and cooked to perfection, with a generous breadcrumb topping. The onion rings were that perfect blend of crunchy batter and tender sweet ring. The potatoes were nicely seasoned.

Based on the reviews, the Boat House Grille is a relaxed and charming spot with a coastal vibe, tucked in the little town of Essex. The food is good as always, with huge and delicious portions. The fish and chips are the clear star, with generous, fresh pieces of fish in a light, crisp batter. The seafood tower is worth the price, and the Pom-tini adds a refreshing touch. The service and the food are perfect. The server was kind and patient, and the bartenders are naturally funny, awesome, and excellent. The hostess went out of her way to get a table. The atmosphere is its strongest asset, being easy, breezy, and inviting. The value was good as well. Some sides are a mixed bag; the coleslaw is fresh, but the onion rings missed the mark. Overall, the Boat House Grille shines where it matters most: atmosphere and standout seafood. It is a spot worth returning to for both the food and the awesome service.
