“5/20/26–After an appointment nearby, it was close to 12 p.m., and I suddenly felt like having a decaf oat milk latte—because apparently my body wanted coffee.
So I opened Google Maps and searched for the nearest Starbucks. I already had my two bananas and mixed nuts with me because I am trying to stay healthy on my drive. After spending three months in Jupiter, Florida, eating a little too good—okay, maybe a lot too good—I am taking this health thing seriously now. I do have to go back next week for three nights, mostly to clean the apartment and finish a few things, but I digress. See? This is how my brain works. One latte and suddenly we are discussing real estate logistics.
This Starbucks is in a little plaza near some hotels, with a few interesting options around. I was attended to quickly, and of course, I played my favorite Starbucks game: “How will they spell my name today?” It is basically my version of a casino, but instead of losing money, I lose vowels.
Even when I say, “Marilyn, like Marilyn Monroe,” I am not sure the younglings today know who she was. At this point, they probably think Marilyn Monroe is a TikTok filter or a candle scent.
I sat outside, enjoyed my coffee with my bananas and mixed nuts, and tried very hard not to stare too long at the pastries.
Thank You, Jesus, I was able to stick to what I brought :bananas and mixed nuts. :)“
“I started off coming here just once or twice for a quick drink before work, but the staff pulled me in, and now I come way more often! Everyone is welcoming and always has good suggestions to help me find what I’m feeling for, even if I’m not sure of it myself. Ryan is a standout in particular, he never fails to make me feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated coming in. I’ve been to several Starbucks in my life and this one is by far the best - the people, the drinks and the atmosphere are all so great. It’s one of my favorite places to sit and read in the early morning.“
