“We had a small event at Mimi's today. Stephanie and her staff were literally amazing! The food was amazing and there was so much of it. The price they gave was reasonable. The service was beyond exceptional. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were today. They are worth the drive to Hardwick any day. it's also adorable. it's in the old town post office.”
“Been going here for as long as I have been living in gilbertville and personally I LOVE this place, they recently remodeled and the atmosphere is better, everything looks better and the food!! OMG, the best you’ll have ”
“The food is delicious, always have a juicy burger, the waitresses are so friendly and do such a fantastic job serving. The atmosphere is great friendly warm. I highly recommend stopping here!”
“Cafe on the Common is always a pleasure. Clean place, friendly staff and owners, delicious food and drink- and all conveniently in Barre center. If you like music check out their open mic or live performances as noted online. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: There are lots of options for vegetarians either specific veg options such or items that can be tweaked to be veg friendly.Parking: There are free lot spots available but I’ve never had to look past free street parking right out front.”
“We stopped in for a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon. Sat right down, server came over right away. The sausage parm grinder was the absolute best I've ever had. Fresh and hot. Tender sausage and tons of cheese and sauce. Fantastic.”
“This place is ADORABLE! The coffee and food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Their breakfast sandwiches have farm fresh eggs. Such a great place to go to for breakfast.”
“Excellent place. Had a wonderful time at their fireplace feast. Tons of very good food. You will not leave hungry. Drinks were on the pricy side, but they pour generously and make very good drinks. Staff went out of their way to ensure every guest had a good time.Dietary restrictions: Staff go out of their way to make the meal fit your dietary needs. Had a person at our table with a dietary restriction and witnessed staff change out every portion of the meal that needed to be with a very appetizing substitute. Staff did a good job of making the substitutions without making a big deal of it.”
“I love the building & the very tasty beers. And the most interesting bathroom artwork or posters. A person could stay in there a week & not read everything. I love the history of the area all written on brochures which are all stuck on the walls. I may take my mug of beer & a bit of pizza & stay in there for a long while & just read.”
“Just got the steak and cheese special, I love to eat but I couldn't finish it, that thing was packed with steak they definitely don't skimp!!! Highly recommend!!!”
“Recently started going here, a few of us that works Saturday at my job take turns bringing in donuts I moved and now drive by this location twice daily, it has become our new spot. There are many flavors that the other donut place doesn't carry anymore. The staff is great, donuts are fresh and delish! And have yet to try the coffee but found out they have one of my favorite flavors! will be returning ❤️”
“Absolutely love this place. Whenever I happen to ride into Ware I just pray he's there and not gone for a fair or event. Usually can smell the BBQ before I actually see the place and get so excited.”
“We finally have a delicious thin crust pizza restaurant in town! My son is a very picky eater and he loves the cheese pizza…we will be back many times! Fingers crossed they’re around a lot longer than the other businesses that have come before ??”
“I absolutely love this restaurant! I try to make sure I go at least once a week because I just can’t get enough of their homefries. My kiddos love the huge chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream! The staff is always so friendly and we never wait long! We were so happy to see them open back up on Sundays!”
“Even though Janines Frostie is more than an hour away, the drive is always worthwhile.Excellent food and ice cream, amiable service, and regular live music make this a fantastic stop for foodies on a day trip or weekend getaway. Janines will provide a wonderful treat to cap off your day, whether it's after a bike ride, a Sunday drive, a stroll through Quabbin, or just a trip to have ice cream with the kids. The menu offers a good selection of seafood dishes in addition to the more unusual pot roast poutine, corn dogs, sassy sow dogs, and hamburgers and hot dogs.”
“Delivery update - got delivery last night, using Slice app. Order hot, correct and was notified it was busy so order took little longer than initial time. Driver wonderful and I was able to tip online (usually prefer tipping in cash tho).(past post) I just ate my first order for a chicken and broccoli alfredo dinner with the new owners (everyone has their test food, know what I mean?). Wow. I loved it from the presentation, even though it was take out, to the leftovers I'm sure to enjoy tomorrow. The dinner even came with a small ceasar salad (unless that was a mistake lol). Dinner was obviously homemade, enough sauce without drowning in it and the chicken... Yum. Someone sure knows how to cook it without overcooking it. Hard to do with nuggets.I got the chef salad as well (someone else mentioned this in their review). They asked me if I wanted peppers and onions. I opted for no, so yes mine was just lettuce, two baby carrots, 4 tomatoes and one slice of cucumber. However the heaping amount of lettuce and more importantly to me, the quality of the vegetables was superior (except tomatos... good luck trying to get great ones right now anywhere though). Finally I ordered chicken wings. They asked me what kind, breaded or not but I didn't understand honestly. I said no because I thought they meant chicken fingers. When we saw they were seasoned but naked wings we realized they may not use typical frozen box wings, or at least have a wider selection. Nice. While I miss Stacey's smiling face, welcome to the NB family guys. Thank you and well doneParking: Parking easy in front of store, along road”
“Found this place by accident on a recent trip to western MA. One of the better Italian meals have had outside of the north end in Boston. Super food with all the choices you could want. Many appetizers and mains of chicken, veal, pasta, seafood choices. Now I just have to make the trip to go back again. This meal made a long day from Boston to Western MA and back we'll worth the trip!!Parking: Plenty of free parking”
“Just started going there since way back. Food is always great so far, service is great and love sitting at a counter instead of a booth...Vegetarian options: Not a vegetarian, so have a salad...Dietary restrictions: I'm sure they can and will accommodate...Parking: Plenty of spaces...Kid-friendliness: As always...Wheelchair accessibility: Absolutely...”
“Food and atmosphere are always great. Only downfall we got charged twice for a meal. We called a few times to get it resolved and it feels like we're being ignored so the issue isn't resolved but other than that, everything is great! Our friends recently moved to the area and we have been a few times now.”
“Excellent food. Been eating lunch here for a few weeks now. Parking is convenient. Orders are quick and delicious. I enjoy supporting small local businesses. There’s nothing like a homemade meal.”
“We stayed here in May and I'm just getting around to writing a review. This Harvest Host was great! The cider was great, the hosts were friendly, and the access was very easy. They were welcoming to our kids and our 2 leashed dogs. It's off a main road so it's a little loud, but nothing that was off putting to us. There's a little stream and a pond right next to where we parked, so it was peaceful and beautiful. There's plenty of room to park your rig. We have a 26' travel trailer and parking is in an open grass field. There's also plenty of room within the cider yard for the kids to run and play. They have corn hole and while we were there they had live music, too.”
“Although you wouldn't think much of the outside of this restaurant, the food can't be beat! We visited this restaurant last summer and I don't remember exactly what we had, I know we've been wanting to go back ever since! I know we had seafood and it was very fresh and for a small restaurant, the menu was very diversified. Can't wait to go back! We live quite far from Barre, so we'll take a road trip there soon!”
“We had a great experience here and highly recommend it! We were in town for a wedding and loved our stay here. The Garden View room was so cool with its 11 windows wrapping 3 walls. The bed was super comfy and the window AC worked well, which is crucial for me. Joe was lovely and always available to help. We enjoyed sitting in the living room with some friends before bed. Joes cooked to order breakfast was delicious. I can tell Joe pays attention to detail and it shows. We would gladly stay here again.”
“We have dined here several times since they have opened. We are always pleased with the service and food. The portions are huge, and the pricing for these portions is very reasonable. The ambiance compliments the name the restaurant perfectly, a very barnyard feel. The owners, Lori and Gary are always on the floor engaging with the patrons and staff. Even before they sold their first breakfast, they donated a gift certificate to us for a raffle we were having. This restaurant, the staff, and owners have been a wonderful addition to our town!”
“Really lovely dairy bar. I'm glad i stopped in over the summer. Ice cream is fantastic. Hot dogs and fries were also delicious. They have the basics, and they do them well. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. Look for the blue cow!Parking: Small parking lot, plenty of space when I went, but I can see how it could fill up fast.”
“Food is delicious, portions are generous and prices are reasonable. And, they accept credit cards. A little bonus is a side of macaroni salad or possibly tomato salad is automatically included with each order. Only regret is that they are now closed for the season until April, 2023.”
“Timeout is a small venue that has one long bar a very small stage area a beautiful fireplace one TV and some couches it also has a couple high tops and I believe it has an outside seating area. I went to watch a friend of mine from otherwise I would've never happened upon the spot as it's located in a small rural town about 20 minutes off the highway A couple hours outside of Boston. Goodbye was well-kept reminiscent of any small rural town similar to a ski village pub location. The bartender was very efficient and made my drink perfectly. I was very comfortable as everyone inside the venue seemed happy and polite well mannered such as most small towns. Also appear that everyone knew each other it was a friendly get together spot. Kudos goes out to Yvonne The other members of MOB (My Other Band) as they preformed fabulously and I assume will be asked for repeat performance.”
“Beautiful, creative cakes, cookies and cupcakes. Beautiful grounds and gardens, June and her family are very creative. She's a true artist and a really nice person.”
“A long time favorite place to get a very good sub ( grinder). I always try to get one whenever I'm in the area. Probably the best place, I've ever gotten a sub. The Italian sub is awesome.”
“A quiet, small town bar. Honestly, being a member of the community I've really only been in here 3 times in my entire life. So if you're looking for a place with just the right amount of people and not over crowded, weeknights are key.”
“Absolutely fantastic! A must try. The service is great. Warm and friendly people and atmosphere. The pastries are to die for! The only local place I've found for lattes, espresso etc. Highly ”
