“I don't know where to start because there are too much for me to say, first of all, I have been coming to this place for a period of time, it is mostly my Sundays spot to bring my family after church. The reason that I choose to leave this feedback because I FEEL like it is time for me to give them a feedback 😊!
To continue, I congratulate these people for the hard work that they have been putting to keep up with running this place, bravo. On the other hand, I would like to give you guys an advice base the the type of review that you guys are getting, I hope you guys use these good and bad comments to motive yourself and your teams! “i will definitely be visiting The D Coal Pot again very soon. The food is fresh taste great and really good. I was driving and came upon this restaurant i didn't plan on going to this restaurant but I said to self stop and get a few Patties and wouldn't you know they had no Patties. I left the restaurant with Corn Soup Peas & Rice Chicken Roti Beef Roti. I also got to try a dessert I've never had before I don’t know the name of it but had Guava Sweet Potato Coconut and other things to make this dessert which was really good so I ordered 2 to go. D Coal Pot is definitely a place you must visit and get a meal.“

“I went there today , like 10 minutes before they closed . The lady at the front was very nice , although they had run out of a lot of food because it was 10 minutes before closing, she tried her best to accommodate me and gave 2 types of chicken because there was not enough of the other I wanted . Portions are a lot couldn’t be more satisfied with the flavor of the food . Will definitely come back .“

“I ordered the jerk chicken with brown rice which came with sweet plantains. The chicken was flavorful, tender,& spicy. The rice & plantains were the perfect combo to neutralize some of the spice. I found them on IG looking for local Black Owned businesses. I’m glad I did! The owner was also super kind and provided great service.“

“THE STORE IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!!! Business Hours: 10am-9pm Mon-Sat Closed sundays (for now) Rice and Peas and curry goat. FOOOD IS GOOODT nice serving size. Order a small and I was full before finishing it. So much flavor, this curry chicken here was so juicy, rice and peas not too soft nor to hard, FRESH. Yellow plantain sweet and soft and tasteful Looking fwd to the BBQ J*** chicken next time I go. Everything on the menu is actually good“

“The restaurant is in a strip mall, and unless you know it’s there, it can be easily missed.

The ambience feels intimate even though it’s a rather large space. We were in a private room for a birthday celebration, which was nice; however, there was far too much on the table: too many glasses and plates, more for decoration than utility. This restaurant doesn’t serve wine, beer, or alcohol, yet the table had champagne glasses at each setting.

The food was plentiful and flavorful, and our waitress did yeoman’s work in serving such a large group. The meals, though good, were not timely. That’s not the fault of the waitress, rather the kitchen. Some of us received the side vegetable dishes after we had already consumed most (if not all) of our meals.

The entrees are very reasonably priced, and there’s a variety in terms of selection. My Red Snapper, lightly fried, was accompanied by a delicate sauce - I’m not exactly sure what it was, but it was tasty. Others in the group also ordered the Red Snapper, Haitian-style, which they all said was good, but very spice. ‘Too spicy. Another of our party said her Beef Short Rib was too salty, so she didn’t eat it.

Overall, the evening was quite nice, and the food was good. I would be remiss though if I didn’t stress how professional and hardworking our waitress was! She deserved a huge tip - which I gave her, personally.“
