True North Ale Company Brewery • $

“Had my wedding at True North recently - the whole process was wonderful! The events coordinator Tim was a complete pro - in the weeks leading up to our event he was there for all of our questions and needs. When it came to the day of, he made sure the event went off seamlessly and our guests had an amazing time. All of the vendors we worked with remarked at how amazing Tim and True North were to work with.Even a few weeks later when we needed his help he went out of his way to assist us on related item to the event. He didn't have to, but he was happy to do it. True North has an ace up their sleeve with Tim. Book your future events at the brewery!“

“Good selection of tasty beers. The four persons in my group each had a flight AND a glass of "I'm Going Bananas" so we got to try almost everything. Friendly staff (owners I think), clean restrooms, and live plants on the tables added to a positive experience.“

RiverWalk Brewing Co. Brewery • $
40 Parker St, Newburyport - 8.72 miles

“Cool place. Fast, friendly service. Pumpkin beer was really good! Food was tasty - the wings were AMAZING. They're beer braised, extremely tender and very flavorful. Pizza was just okay (sorry, I'm a New Yorker) but still enjoyable. My husband enjoyed the beer; he bought a four pack of Hit of Haze. Fun, local place! Worth a visit, for sure!“

Backbeat Brewing Company Brewery • $$
31A Park St, Beverly - 9.35 miles

“Charming local brewery opposite the commuter rail, serving a healthy variety of casked beers and ales. Keep in mind that cask beers are naturally carbonated, and this can sometimes be perceived as flat by people who aren't used to drinking them. You're not going to get the sharp sting of carbonation on your first few sips, but it has a unique style all of its own. My own personal preference is that darker beers work better with the cask system but again that's just personal preference. Really loved the outside patio!“

Newburyport Brewing Company Brewery • $
4 New Pasture Rd, Newburyport - 8.96 miles

“There are several brewing operations within walking distance of the Newburyport MBTA commuter rail station, even if much of this is along roads without proper sidewalks. Still, when combined with a $10 weekend commuter rail pass, you can explore all these breweries in one day trip without worrying about driving afterwards, all while saving on the cost of gas. Newburyport Brewing is one of these breweries. It's located deep inside a dead-end road about a 20 minute walk from the train station - but there are at least 2 other brewing operations along the way. Once inside, you'll find a large, rustic, pub-like taproom with about a dozen draft brews on offer. There's also a large, sun-drenched beer garden outside. I tried a variety of brews via a flight when I stopped by: the Plum Island Belgian White wheat beer, Overboard NEIPA, Sandbar DIPA, Newberry Blue sour, and the toffee stout. A nice variety that showed that they can make clean, light, easily drinkable brews across a spectrum of styles - not to mention refreshing ones on a hot early summer day.Even though there was a steady stream of folks lining up at the bar, service was attentive, efficient, and detail-oriented. When I stopped by, it was particularly busy because there was a solid live band. If I remember correctly, they had some snacks available for purchase, but if you want something more substantial to help you soak up the booze, you can either bring your own food or order delivery. All in all, a lively, social venue in an otherwise quiet commercial corridor of Newburyport with plenty of brews to make it worth your while in getting here.“
