This was our third year staying in Marblehead for our trip to Salem. After talking to a local down by the pier he recommended Maggie's for drinks and food. We had never been here before. When we arrived, our first visit there was only room at the bar. Which was fine we were not there to eat this time. The bartender kidded us that she was bored. Lol. She was slammed! Maddie’s Sail Loft, unpretentious with a dark interior, is favored by savvy locals and smart tourists. We were served excellent food and the prices are right. We blew into town, our first visit, and there’s no direct route to M’head. Read the reviews, could have chosen a waterfront joint that was way too pricey, opted for Maddie’s and so glad we did. Sadly townie said good place, but not for us. Brought out the wrong dish for me. The sauce was so wet. They did replace gf dish and brought me out another wrong dish I went with it. The steak tips were real tough. And at no time did manager come to see what was wrong and at the time I wasn't going to ask to see him. And they did comp anything.
