Went to Popponesset Inn for the first time tonight and had a party of 10. Food was great and only surpassed by the service of Kelly & Ali. Wonderful atmosphere with a strong " old Cape Cod" vibe.
The food was marginal at best. A “buffalo” cauliflower appetizer was oily and bitter. The cod batter fried sandwich was all batter. The cod inside was fine but there was so way too much batter - the sandwich appeared huge- too big to eat as a sandwich but really was just a lot of fried batter. Excellent service, food and atmosphere every time we go. The best Lobster Rolls. Loaded with Fresh ( not frozen) meat which includes tail, claws and knuckles My husband got the Fried scallop plate. He could not finish it and ended up taking it home. Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely will return.
