When my friend planned a going away dinner here, I reached out via email asking if it was possible for them to accommodate me. They wrote back an extremely kind response saying they were looking forward to hosting me- that really made my day. “Cityside Tavern is a casual restaurant spot in Boston's Brighton neighborhood and a great place to dine with friends or that special someone. Plenty of television screens are scattered everywhere to catch live sports action, the ambiance has the young college crowd (being near Boston College), the music is moderate in volume and the menu has many excellent food options to choose from. The restaurant is divided into two floors – one downstairs section and one upstairs section – to allow for additional seating capacity. In the summer season, an outdoor seating patio on the second level gives patrons a great view of the traffic flow through Cleveland Circle. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an upscale dining experience in one of Boston's bustling neighborhoods.“

“What a great meal at Branch Line! This was my first visit, my companions had dined here before. Very lively with beautiful warehouse-vibe decor. Our server was amazing, charming and attentive. The food was delicious, highly recommend the Crab Louie app, tons of crab. Presentation of all items was spectacular. Only complaint: two of us had the risotto with scallops added—the scallop was chopped into tiny pieces and was most likely only one on each plate. That was disappointing especially for such a class act restaurant. But still yummy.“

“Man! I made the huge mistake of going to a different bar, and I'm on my way to the one and only Joe Sent Me of Cambridge.

This bar is like Cheers. Everyone knows your name! Not just the bartenders, but even the regulars.

I stumbled into this bar about 6 months ago and have been coming 2-3 times a week. I usually get their quesadilla, wings, or anything on the sat brunch (can't go wrong on that menu).

I left for about 2 months on vacation and when I returned the Owmer, Sandy shook my hand and asked where I had been! I felt very appreciated and welcomed. Jen & Steph are great bartenders and will remember your drink after two visits or less!

I don't leave bad reviews, but I will definitely not be going back to that other bar.

“What the menu lacks in variety, it makes up for in quality. We had the kebabs, chips & salsa and the chicken sandwich, and every single one blew away our expectations. Flavors were complex and robust, food perfectly prepared, and the worst part of the meal was when the decent portions were gone.

Service was fantastic. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted after a 7.5hr car ride in dense New England traffic, and truly, this nerd-bar scratched every itch after a long, stressful day.“

“Second time here within 6 months. Last time they were good and I vowed I would give them another try. Last time there was no table service, I sat at the counter then. The place was lively and the food was decent. This time I ordered veggie omelet with shelled eggs and beef sausage with home fries and grits on the side, plus coffee. Then I sat down.

Prompt service from Ms. Edna..she's on point. She's personable, has great multitasking skills, and tries to anticipate your wants in a timely fashion. The only issue I had was with the home fries. Some of them were undercooked and you need to use a generous amount of salt/ pepper for the grits.

If I'm in the area, I will stop in for a decent, generously proportioned meal. Breakfast or lunch. Solid choice“

“If it's crowded expect to wait a long time for your food. My food actually came out before my drinks did. I was told the bar was backed up but when I looked there was no one there. My waiter was new which I held space for but she was little forgetful and would forget to. Ome back to our table. Again she was new and it was her first day not in training. She was super nice and sweet.

Parking: If you can find parking on the street for free good luck.“

They have recently upgraded the sound system, lighting and stage and are revamping everything rapidly to create an excellent and rare environment for live shows, club nights and multimedia events. “I was hoping to order a la carte, but my only option was the breakfast buffet. Our waiter was less than enthusiastic. The buffet was well stocked and the lady who made my omelette was sweet and she did a nice job. Bananas Foster were yummy. I think we got there at a good time. It was quiet. I would hate to be there when it gets busy. It was ok, but I wish it had been a tad cheaper for what it was.“

“Savin came recommended in a restaurant group so we gave it a try tonight. It was my friend and I with 5 children from 4 to 14. I arrived first with my son and was promptly greeted by Brody (who also waited on us). I explained we had 5 kiddos and inquired if a booth was available. He brought us over to a half booth which was perfect. The booth as well as chairs were very comfortable. I asked if we could have the older 2 girls (both 14) sit at the table next to us (they enjoy doing this). He was so accommodating andhappily set us up. Water was brought over for all of us and he asked if we had any questions on the menu. He said he would give us a few minutes to make our selections and went to get the beverages we ordered. 5 minutes later he came back with drinks and asked if we were ready to order. I got the chicken penne and added shrimp. My friend got the buffalo chicken quesadilla. We usually order 2 items and split them. Both were delish and we really enjoyed both entrees. The older girls got the adult portion max and cheese, which was cavatappi pasta with a ritz breadcrumb. They both said it was perfect consistency and enjoyed it. 2 kiddos got the kids size mac and cheese (cavatappi pasta with cheese) and 1 got the pasta with red sauce. Decent portions for a kids meal. The atmosphere was very nice. The music selection was also great and perfect volume. Brody was absolutely wonderful. He was attentive, but never pushy. Service was definitely a 10/10. This was the first time we have been to Savin but we will definitely be back. We felt the check was very fair for 7 people. (I snapped a few quick pics which really don’t do it justice but…).“
