Love their donuts here! Tucked away just behind Newton center right by the train stop.
Donuts are good, but it's always so understaffed that the service is bad. Even if you put your order in ahead of time you still end up standing in line for 15 minutes for someone to hand you a donut.
Came here around 1pm on a Saturday. 6 window seats available in total. Were sold out of all but one donut which was sad but understandable. Was still a phenomenal donut with a pillowy inside that was packed with flavor. I’m pretty sure we got a lemon coconut brioche one. Also ordered a hot chai and latte, both of which were amazing in flavor as well. Note that certain drinks you add sugar to yourself which makes it very customizable to each person’s liking. Blackbird Doughnuts Newton Centre offers delicious donuts with creative flavors that are fantastic and nicely balanced. The cake donuts are not too oily or sweet, while the yeast donuts are fluffy, cherry, and just the right level of sugary. The coffee, like the iced latte, is also a highlight and hits the spot. The atmosphere is very small, cozy, clean, and pleasant, although there is no bathroom on site. The staff, while sometimes appearing disinterested, are able to provide adequate service and are often friendly and welcoming. Parking is convenient with plenty of metered spots available, and the location is in front of the commuter rail station, making it great to grab a bite or drink before heading to Boston. Blackbird Doughnuts is known for the incredible flavors of their donuts, which are light, fluffy, and delicious, with favorites including vanilla glaze, everything donut, and the Apple fritter. They also occasionally offer savory tarts and special pride donuts every June. Additionally, Blackbird delivers through DoorDash, ensuring the donuts arrive fresh.
