“It's a small restaurant with a relaxed, informal atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. The food was special- so delicious that my husband, son and I agreed that this was our favorite restaurant. It appeared that other customers were having similar reactions, which added to a wonderful dining experience.“

“We were only looking for a grownup place to meet friends after the Boston Calling concert for some drinks and to catch-up. There's very little available in this neighborhood, so Sloane's was our only choice, and we never expected it would be so flawless, inviting, creative, and showcase such hospitality. I could live just on their appetizers, meant to be shared for the table. They're fun and playful and flawlessly executed. An instant win were the cheese and onion popovers, and the tomato tart but even the pigs-in-a-blanket were clever and original. Loved the cocktail menu where even traditionally sweet options were crafted with restraint to highlight flavor rather than dulling the mouth with sugar syrup. We finished with a couple desserts and let me just say the banana cream pie should be mandatory at every table! Service was so smooth and unobtrusive, they never blinked even though we monopolized our table for rather a long time with our friends. Highly recommend.“

“The diabolical junk foodicians have done it again! A vegan chicken sandwich with a waffle bun made with mac and cheese! Whuuut! The cubano was also stellar. Perfect bun, shredded jackfruit pork and seitan ham. My lord. They had a French onion soup that was also bonkers and quite complex flavor-wise.“

“We went here for a night cap after visiting the holiday market in Seaport and ended up staying for 3 drinks! The vibe with the red lighting, the old photos, being partially underground, it was all very neat. Our bartender who called himself "Shamus", but came up as "John" on our receipt was a hoot. He definitely knew how to get a rise out of customers (or put them in their place with some snark if they had one too many).
I told Shamus that I was picky about my dirty martinis and his was the best one I've ever had next to the one my husband makes me; he told me "put that on yelp, eh?!" but I'm putting it on here because I haven't read a yelp review since 2010. My husband had a classic old fashioned and it was absolutely perfect.
We had their bar food special that night which was chicken tenders - they were delicious -- all white meat, moist and appeared to be either hand breaded or just really good quality -- the sauce was delicious, and you can't go wrong with $1 tendies! Everyone else was ordering their pizza which also looked excellent.
I'd highly recommend stopping here for a fun, old school speakeasy vibe, good drinks, and some delicious bar food!“

“No longer cash only! This tucked away eatery serves delicious curries and chicken cutlets. Feels like a legit Japan-style restaurant where you can get a comfortable, familiar meal, by yourself or with friends and family. Delicious sesame salad and miso soup! The red pickled radishes with the curry were best. Attentive service and dishes are served at just the right pace. Plus enough for two meals!“

“Really glad I found this spot. Has a chill, cozy vibe — the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned. The wine selection is thoughtful without being overwhelming, and the staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. I had a glass of red they suggested and it was spot on. Brie appetizer? Ridiculously good. definitely get it if it’s on the menu. Whether you’re popping in for a quick glass or settling in for the night, this place just gets it right.“

“I really appreciate what you did for me. I am from Turkey and I was travelling in Boston in 2018. I had no money with me but still the woman prepared meal for me. It was really delicious by the way. And they are amazing people. I will never forget about you. Thank you so much. God bless you !!! <3“

“I am a fan of their res ( stew beef) , habichuela (beans) and arroz (rice ) ? they use to give good portions but things have changed , it’s 2022 now and prices are up but it’s worth it still . It ain’t that expensive. It’s enough to feed two if your ordering a plate for $18“

“saw this restaurant and it's james beard nominee chef on phantom gourmet, so when i drove up from the Cape to see my Uncle we decided to check it out… i grew up in the neighborhood so was neat to see the old hood! this place used to be a bakery, and has been transformed into a hip counter service option for breakfast/lunch, etc....sparkling clean, friendly counterperson, was my first impression...there is a nice window facing counter with stools to sit at and enjoy your selections...we both ordered the fish congee and i got the rice noodles with hoisin sauce and my uncle ordered the rice noodles with curry fish balls, and we ordered green tea...all the dishes were so yummy! i'm talking deliciousness every bite. i worked in chinatown for 17 years so im familiar with most of the dishes, its a good varied menu of the staples and the unexpected ...the congee was an appetizing and creative presentation with nuts and different colorful toppings for added flavor and esthetics ...had such a delicate fish flavor....we plan to return soon...want to try the french toast and also the rice with salt and pepper chicken...the bao selections look tempting as well! busy area but we found hancock street parking and saw spots on Billings Rd as well...highly recommend.“
