“Oh my gosh what a gem on a desolate stretch of road! We stayed at the Hampton Inn because of a flight cancellation and were looking for something within walking distance. Little did we know we’d find not just a cozy diner but delicious Colombian cuisine. Got the Omelett Paisa and the potatoes were so flavorful and the plantain such a yummy treat. Highly recommend!!“

“Perfect. This is the kind of place I can come back to! Local, historical, ethical and flavorful! We were lucky enough to get seats at the counter where you can see all the action. Food, service and atmosphere are all top notch. As an added bonus for all of you day drinkers out there, this diner has a liquor license. This place is historical and also nowhere near the Patriot Trail so if you're there you did it on purpose. I think my favorite thing was the hustle and bustle of regular folks coming in and out of the diner, including two cops who were picking up a lunch order!“

“My wife and I were in Wakefield to purchase car and when we were finished we realized we had not eaten all day. We found this gem of a diner. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I started with the beef stew. it was excellent. It was not to salty, you could tell it was homemade the flavor brought me back to childhood. My wife started with the chicken and rice soup which she said was also fantastic, once again not to salty. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy. The gravy was outstanding. My wife had the teriyaki chicken stir-fry which was delicious. We needed the meal by brining home 6 raisin oatmeal cookies. I would highly recommend North Ave. Diner if you are in the area.“

“What an exceptional gem in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city! The waitor was extremely kind, patient, and accommodating to our family. We traveled in from out of state for medical appointments and were welcomed with open arms. My sons have autism and ADHD, one is non-verbal. No judgement, no looks, no differential treatment, and absolutely no doubt we are valued customers. What a fantastic feeling knowing you can come to the city and there is a place that is not only kind but accommodating to individuals who are different. “Let’s talk about Forest Hills Diner. As a Boston Native, How Dare I be from here, have attended High School in Hyde Park, and have never eaten at Forest Hills Diner until today. Literally! I was TODAY years old when I learned that Forest Hills Diner has some amazingggggggggg food.

I flew in this morning to check on my grandmother and decided to grab breakfast with one of my best friends before heading over. She had been raving about Forest Hills Diner, so of course, I had to go.

It was early in the morning, so the foot traffic was slow. The restaurant was very clean, and as soon as we opened the door, the gentleman behind the counter was very welcoming, offering a warm greeting and a big smile.

As I was at the counter exploring the menu, I was excited to see the variety of options offered. There literally was so much to choose from, and I wanted one of everything. LoL! However, I decided to get the Beef Smoked Sausage on an English Muffin with Home Fries, add Onions, Extra Onions, Well Well Well Done…

The Beef Sausage was well done and juicy. The smokiness was super flavorful and let the natural beef flavor shine, yet it held its own lane as well. The sandwich also had a generous portion of meat and was well worth the price.

The Home Fries were absolutely amazing. They were done the exact way I ordered them. They were very well seasoned and the crispiness of the edges paired with the softness of the middle, OhEmGeeeeeeeeeeee… I want more now. LoL!!!

As I was eating, the foot traffic definitely picked up, and it was so heart-warming to see the guy behind the counter welcome people by name as they walked through the door. This is a representation of TRUE service. The kind of survive that you don’t see anymore. Not to mention, the charm of a local spot where the people know your name. Ha

Overall, my experience at Forest Hills Diner was superb. Not only was it an experience worth promoting, but it was also so amazing that I will ensure I come back whenever I am home and in the mood for breakfast. The go-to will be Forest Hills Diner.

“Food is decently priced compared to the area. The Carne Asada plate is not their forte but they do have great burgers and omelets. No truck parking. You can park on the side of the road but it's not that convenient. They do have delivery however and they're fast and friendly. If you're delivering to the Boston Market or the New England Market then hit this place up for a nice freshly cooked meal.“

My Wife LOVED the chicken stir fry and she is picky about food I was impressed by my contractor's breakfast. “i ordered banana stuffed pancakes as per the menu and well it wasn’t what i imagined and they were kinda tough for a pancake. but tasty paired with the warm syrup. it was a nice touch. my other dish was maple peppered chicken benedict i thought it tasted like thanksgiving. there was and overpower of pepper vs the no maple flavor it provided lol. the home fries were very salty and cold but small so their cute. our server was great, friendly and attentive, although some of the employees seem overworked. great place for a late night eat!!

p.s. the door is pushed closed by the wind pressure It creates so pull hard when opening!!“

“If you want a hometown diner feel, this is the place to go! Went for breakfast here this morning and it was great! The service, food and staff were awesome. I just had surgery on my hand and I mentioned to my cousin how an omelette would be easier to eat then picking up a sandwich. The waitress quickly chimed in and told me the cook will cut it into fours for me! I would recommend this place to anyone! 😊“
