“The husband and I did an order during their soft open, and it was super good! We have ordered atleast 2-3 more times since the soft open and it's always good! I've tried all their sides, brussels are DELICOUS. Zucchini salad is also VERY good. I do think it has a LOT of almonds, but I could have just gotten a nut heavy scoop, so definitely recommend! We did and sampler platter and the meats are solid. The ribs are THE BEEEEST. pulled pork and brisket is good too. have yet to try the burnt ends, that's my next venture! Overall a great meal. Price wise, it is moderate. price points around the same if not cheaper for most BBQ I've had up here. I'm from the south so prices will never be as cheap as there, but the food, personally, is worth the price.“

“Pulled pork was SO GOOD. Actually, everything we had was outstanding. Pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and corn bread were 10/10. Highly recommend and definitely will be going back! This is better BBQ than some of the “high end” bbq restaurants I’ve been to in Boston.“

“Decided to go out for dinner with a few friends and it was delicious. I liked the citrus dressing on the avocado salad. The filet mignon was tender and flavorful. For dessert, green tea ice cream is a must!“

“Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try. Don’t hesitate to ask a question, you will definitely get an answer. :)“

“Blackstrap is my GO TO for bbq, neighborhood vibes, live music, darts, etc. The staff is so fun, the food and drinks are amazing, it’s comfortable and chill but you still get great service and food/drink. The owners are super hands on and always there, and are such nice and cool people. Definitely recommend, especially for their live music nights! Nothing else like it around here!“

“We recently took our family of five to Tennessee’s BBQ in Braintree, and it was such a fun experience! From the moment we walked in, the place felt like the real deal. We ordered the Family Pak, which is supposed to feed four, but it was perfect for us with a little extra for our hungry crew. Ribs, pulled pork, and a spread of four sides came out looking mouthwatering.
Our little baby couldn’t wait to try the ribs! You could see the excitement on her face as she eyed the plate, and we couldn’t blame her. Then, our older ones got into the sauce like pros, and let’s just say there was a lot of laughing (and some pretty epic BBQ messes) at our table!
But oh, the food! The flavors were smoky and rich, exactly what you hope for in good BBQ. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone, the pulled pork was packed with flavor, and every side we tried hit the spot. The only little thing? The smoky aroma from the kitchen filled up the whole lobby and left us smelling like BBQ for the rest of the day—but honestly, it was worth it for such a great meal. If you’re craving real BBQ, this is the place to go!“

“We celebrated my wife’s Birthday last month and we had a great time with my family.
We had never been to a BBQ place like this before so we had no clue what to do.
Our waitress was very helpful and answered every question we had and explained what was going to happen and how it would work with the food.
Needless to say everything went smoothly and we had a great time.“

“Went in this evening with family and friends. The food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed steak tips with rice and it was impeccable. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere has changed a lot (same great vibes) which I love. Charlie is such a kind and caring human. He’s always been a love! “We went looking for Barbecue International and found out it was changed to Himalayan Kitchen. First timers and we ran into the owner who was super nice. We had the chicken pakoras, chicken tika masala lunch, garlic naan and beef chilli. Honestly favorite restaurant in Somerville now, definitely going to be regulars here. Everything was spiced perfectly and was amazing. 10/10 perfect comfort food and also good day food. Really happy we stopped by.“

“this is sooooo good, every bite of meat is soft and tender and the biscuits looked mediocre, but tasted perfect. They even thawed out the butter instead of giving me a frozen lump like 99% of restaurants. I will go out of my way to eat here again!“

“Coming from the south, I view BBQ a bit differently and I’m always on the hunt for something in New England that gives me that feeling of home. Well, this place is it! I dare anyone to find better ribs for the money you pay here! Fall off the bone ribs with just enough bite. The sauce is the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. This country boy will be back soon!

The wait staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating and the food was absolutely out of this world. “They have great food, great prices, and great people. The menu is excellent with a wide array of things to choose from. They have seafood, pizza, barbecue and more. And to go along with their great food selections? The prices. They are a lot cheaper than other places I have been. And their staff is amazing. They are so friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to others“
