A & J King Artisan Bakers in Salem is a favorite spot, offering delicious pastries and baked goods. They now offer vegan cream cheese for bagels and vegan cheese as a substitute on sandwiches, including a wonder "veggie press" sandwich that can be easily modded to be vegan. The generous portions and reasonable prices make it a great choice. The cozy atmosphere allows for a relaxed hangout, with friendly staff and a variety of tasty treats. Beans are now Atomic Coffee from Beverly, and they do a great job with it. Their bread is top tier. They usually have at least one vegan pastry item available each day, and sometimes have vegan cake, sandwich, and soup specials. Customer service was fantastic. They had croissants, a bagel sandwich, fresh bread, amazing cookies, and the spinach and leek puff with everything seasoning. The coffee was great too. A & J King have been selling excellent traditional french bakery items for years and have become a local institution.
