We stopped in for lunch on Saturday and it was delicious. My two youngest children had the kid chicken kabob meals which was a good value. While my wife and I and our older child all had thali combos (chicken tikka, saag paneer, and All three were good but I think my Dal Makhani was especially delicious. My wife really enjoyed her kheer as well. The restaurant was very comfortable and quiet on a later weekend lunch and the service was excellent. We'll definitely be back.
I've had Spice Root numerous times and always love the samosas. This time I got the tofu sag which was bland and very watery, but the baingan bharta was very good. They have a vegan section but don't label the starters or anything else. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant.

As for dishes, naan and some curry sauces are great, basmati is decent, but they also have some terrible curry sauces. Among what I ate, vindaloo was exceptional, chana masala, aloo baingan, and home spice curry were also good, chicken dopiaza is ok, but sag paneer was just tasteless and chicken tikka masala was strangely sweet.Service is usually nice and friendly, but the last time, I ordered lunch thali for takeout but did not receive chana masala nor salad.
