“I went for the first time earlier this week, and I thought it was great! Firstly they were very gracious about my indecisiveness on where I wanted to sit, and allowed me to switch tables. Twice. The bev list had a solid selection of natural wines from some of my favorite producers, but I ended up ordering a glass of one I've never tried before - a skin contact Carricante which matched nicely with the light char on our pizza. The food was fresh and vibrant, our server was attentive and engaging (sorry hun, I forgot your name, even though I asked a couple times, but you deserve a shout-out). Long story short, I went in hungry and slightly grumpy, I left happy and with a satisfied stomach.“

I made a big mistake about a catering order I placed 2 hours before an event that my nonprofit was holding. I spoke to who I assume was the owner of the restaurant and he was SO kind and accommodating. He created a catering order for me that he knew would feed the amount of guests at the event and due to my confusion (which was entirely my fault), without hesitation he offered to have it delivered to the event even though the restaurant does not deliver. I am certain that the amount of food definitely cost more than the amount that he charged me. He also offered to throw in free cookies after I shared we are a nonprofit. Not only was all of his kindness greatly appreciated by our organization but after the event ended, multiple attendees expressed how delicious the food was. One asked where the chicken alfredo was from so they could go get some themselves!! We have never received a post-event email about the food before!!

“This was my first experience with Blaze Pizza, and it was fantastic. The build your own pizza option was ideal for group of friends out shopping and enjoying Boston. The original crust is perfectly thin and crispy and tasted freshly made. You get to choose your own sauce and they have many options. I got the creamy white sauce base with mozzarella, grilled chicken, black olives, roasted broccoli, and mushrooms. It was so good and was 6 reasonably sized slices. I brought half of mine home. You’d think a custom made pizza would take awhile, but it didn’t. The pizza oven was right in front so you could see your pizza cooking. They have a few dessert options, but we were too full to try any. I do think the s’mores pie would have been gooey perfection with just a few seconds in the pizza oven. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal!“

“Really good sandwiches! The panini and fries combo was MASSIVE and super good. Honestly, it’s like the most food in a sandwich and fries combo that I maybe have ever been given. The kids also enjoyed their pizza (which the cooks were enough to customize for them with pesto instead of red sauce). “500 Ocean is a beautiful property with some amazing amenities. It is in a great location, surrounded by ocean views, restaurants and very accessible to the T, literally right below the building. My husband and I had a great experience living here and had rarely any issues. The main issue we had at move-in was addressed and we were even offered a small gift for the inconvenience. I love the maintenance staff and they are always so pleasant and helpful. One of my favorite parts of living here was having an in-house fitness coach/ personal trainer- Cienna Jade! She is so amazing to work with and has really helped me along my fitness journey. It was so convenient having her come to the 500 Ocean gym, which is one of the best gyms I've seen in an apartment home. She conducts 1 on 1 sessions and will literally work with you on scheduling a time that's convenient for you as well as offering group or couple sessions! Overall, very pleasant experience!“

“I am a self-proclaimed pizza snob and generally only enjoy NY-style pizza, but Royal Pizza & Subs makes an excellent pizza that rivals what I grew up eating. The sauce was perfectly seasoned, the sauce-to-cheese ratio was ideal, and the pepperoni was high quality. The medium-thickness crust was slightly different from NY-style pizza, but so delicious that I didn’t mind one bit! (It was a bit softer and chewier than what I’m used to, and I didn’t notice any semolina flour on the bottom.) My spouse doesn’t usually eat the crust, but we both finished every last bit of our slices! The pizza was a little greasy because of the generous portion of pepperoni, but who would complain about that?! Nothing a few napkins can’t fix!

The staff were super friendly and the service was great: our pizza was ready so quickly! The prices were also extremely reasonable for the amount and quality of food. I am so happy that this restaurant is so close to home: it’s going to become a regular place for us to eat at! “Backwoods pizza is one of the last few quality pizza shops & community merchants. When you walk in you feel the family owned spirit behind Backwoods Pizza.
The recent facelift is the spark behind this review on a WFH day pickup of the Monday special. What I dug the most was the branding from memento to the modern, by keeping / replicating a piece of the original signage. while waiting for my always evenly baked pizza, small talk about the construction and changes. Noting when buildings have murals on them before demolition, pieces like the Mandela Mural on Warren can be replicated & relocated or included in remodels, w/ all the tech now, we LOL . Oh yes, they are also “ in tech “ with the times. ?. Payment options are clear and even doing reviews like this are just a click of your camera screen . Its the small things that make a big difference for pride in community. Like a small family owned & local employer of a neighborhood pizza shop shows.
