“This restaurant is what the definition of a hidden gem is. The food is fresh, delicious, exactly what you look for in a great slice of pizza. They have many options, including burgers and subs, which all are made fresh to order as well. The prices are also reasonable, but what makes it stand out more are the specials they have which make the meals 10x more affordable for a solid
meal. It’s truly wonderful to see a place that actually cares about the people for once. But then the service stands out most to me, the people are the kindest, always accommodating, never rushing me to finish my meal, and making sure I feel welcomed and acknowledged at all times. They treat everyone as a community, which I think should happen more often. Everyone is welcome there and they make sure of it. I definitely recommend coming here, you will fall in love with it!“

“My family of 8 ate here 2 nights in a row while we were in town on vacation. We had a meatlovers pizza, wings, calzone, Caesar wrap and a few other things. The food was great, the staff was very hospitable, and we were very happy with everything.“

“This was my first time here. I wanted to try the handmade pasta so I ordered the spaghetti with shrimp in white wine sauce. First off, though I've only been to 2 or 3 places in the North End, this was better than anything I've had there thus far. I walked in on a Sunday night and got a seat in this small but charming place right away. I'm no expert on decor but to me it was like a balanced combination of rustic and modern with the brick wall and what looked to me like wooden wine boxes built in to a part of the wall juxtaposed to the velvety green stools splashed with black behind the counter. I noticed that there was a real flower placed in water on each table, as well. A small lit candle might have been even better, as it seemed like this is a place that couples like to go. There were two or three pairs affectionately focusing on each other. I can see why. Even though there's no privacy because it's very small, it's a cozy little place in very liberal Somerville. You can be yourself and not feel like others are judging. After I sat they brought out a large glass bottle of water, which was cool, that way I have no issues getting more if I'm thirsty. My order was done in like 5 minutes, even though 2 or 3 couples were waiting for there pizzas to come out. The pizzas are obviously a draw. They looked good as they were brought out. The pasta dish I ordered was perfectly cooked and the sauce was flavorful. I don't know if I had to order bread, but I wish I had some to sop up some of that sauce. I thought the dish could've been enhanced by a little salt and pepper along with a little crushed red pepper, since I like some heat, but I wanted to give the dish a chance as is. I have to say that many people would enjoy the dish as is, and I did as well. It was probably the best pasta I've ever had. This one woman was raving about it. She joked about opening her own place and stealing the chef. The portion was just right, too, even though I thought maybe one or two shrimp would've balanced out the ratio of pasta. You know what, I think that still works because to me the pasta was the star of the show. Giving you the chance to simply enjoy twirling that pasta covered in that sauce with the small variety of (grape?) tomatoes without a piece of shrimp seemed intentional, not profit driven. I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off, not with pasta that good.

As I said, I've eaten here one time, but I'm definitely going back. When I left I felt like I wanted to make it a regular thing. I spent 40 bucks (my meal was 30) and wasn't left feeling regretful. This is sort of like a hidden gem, though it's right on Broadway Street in Ball Square across from the green line in Somerville. It's a chill, comfortable but romantic atmosphere with an elevated feel and food that'll leave you satisfied. That's not an easy find from my experience. I've been disappointed by a lot of food in Boston but this was not one of those times. I'm eager to try the other things on their menu. And the service was beautiful, too. This place is doing it very well. Check em out.“

“What a gem. I’ve been to Junebug three times now and each experience has been awesome. The pizza is incredible, the cocktails are fantastic, and the service has been excellent every time. My husband and I took my mother here for her birthday in May and she is still talking about how much she loved Junebug and wants to come back.“

Ordered take out of half &half large pizza (buffalo chicken and canivora) for my husband and I to share. “Josephine is a solidly good Italian restaurant. The location, vibes, and service were perfect. The space is massive which feels incredible rare for a restaurant in Boston nowadays.

Came here at 5:45 before a 7pm show and our server, Alexis, was really accommodating and friendly about making sure things came out in a timely manner without it feeling rushed. He even dropped off the check at 7pm on the dot.

Now the food is where I have my complaints. At a baseline, it’s all good but it could’ve been better with just minor tweaks. The mozzarella sticks for example, the batter was too thick, reduce that by like 50%. The pizza needed to be cooked just a smidge longer because the crust fell through immediately. Then the chicken parm which is the size of a Ford F150 needed to pounded much thinner. The hashbrowns needed more of the cacio e Pepe sauce.“

“The absolute best buffalo chicken pizza ive ever had. So much chicken for the price they are almost giving away food. 100% my new fav pizza spot. Cant wait to try to the rest of the menu!! I added a note to please make it with a buffaol sauce base ( 1st time ordering im not sure how they make it normally) they did and it was delicious. Got a small and some mozzarella sticks and could only eat half. Even for a small that pizza was stacked with chicken.“

“It’s within about 800 feet of my home, yet I rarely dine on site. The staff are congenial. The food is always delivered 15 to 30 minutes before expected. I love the way they do eggplant, meatballs marinara, curly fries, and all the appetizers. Their Caesar & Greek salads are excellent. They do a killer steak and cheese, hot sub. My per person price is $30+ so I can plan for leftovers the following day.“
