The Baldwin Bar is my go to place for a night out. Each of the two bars have creative and wonderful cocktails, fantastic Szechuan food, and an amazing staff.
The food was insanely delicious. Our poor waiter was also the only waiter/bartender, so service was a little sluggish, but his friendly demeanor and the deliciousness of the food more than made up for it.
Our apps were served at the same time as the mains, which would usually infuriate me, but given how busy things were, I'm impressed we got our food and got everything we ordered.

The Baldwin Bar offers a unique experience with a walk-in policy that provides flexibility. The bartender is skilled and attentive, crafting creative drinks like the Mai Tai and Golden Mask. The menu features a variety of options, including noodles with beef and dumplings. The building itself is a historic piece of art, adding to the charm. Upstairs, the lively atmosphere is perfect for a date or gathering, while the downstairs dining rooms can be a bit noisy, making it hard to hear your party. The restaurant is known for its excellent food, top-notch drinks, and friendly staff. It combines a New England vibe with Sichuan flair, offering swanky bar vibes with great Sichuan food. The cocktails, especially the Flip Fantasia, are highlights, and the food, including eggplant, is highly recommended. While some dishes like the Dan Dan noodles and mapo tofu were a bit skimpy on the pork, the flavors were still good. Despite occasional mistakes, such as serving the wrong wine or dish, the overall experience is memorable, making it a highly underrated gem in the suburbs.
