“Tonight my family and I finally tried Candy’s Chicken for the first time. It’s been on our list for a while — I’ve seen it come highly recommended on Reddit and in various local Facebook groups — and now I get why!

We ordered the Dinner for 4, and honestly, the chicken is incredible — way better than that dude in the white suit. This is hands down the best chicken dinner in the city. The fries, gravy, and buns were all great too, and we added a container of coleslaw on the side — even that was miles ahead of the glow-in-the-dark stuff you get at “the other place.””

“My granddaughter is Dairy egg and gluten resistant ordered her own personal birthday cake, chocolate almond caramel with a picture on it of her puppy . Absolutely delicious! The picture was perfect. She was thrilled to have her own cake worth every penny all the guests got regular cupcakes. I will be ordering one for Father’s Day for sure. The staff is wonderful. I love the little store. He made sure we had a great time and hooked us up with some complementary candies. 10/10 he needs a raise and probably a complementary car, he is the only one working as hard as he does, and honestly this place would fall apart without him. If you eat here you SPECIFICALLY NEED to ask for him.”

“Vera's food is wonderfully simple and top notch. While this restaurant, known for it's great authentic italian pizzas has been in the south osborne area for sometime now, it is truly a fantastic addition to the vibrant & nolstagic Riverview Fort Rouge neighborhood it calls home.
While the service is nothing fancy, the service is quick, efficient and all the staff seem polite and well versed on the menu. When weather permits the patio is a nice touch with the tree canopys of Riverview overhead. The patio is preferred by many as the interior of the restaurant is small ,quant and a lil dated...but none of that matters once your pizza arrives. Pizzas are insanely good here, not drowning in grease and cheese, but thin authentic and creative. I had the Hot Honey Pork Za with a side of italian meatballs....and it all blew my mind. Our food arrived in 15 minutes on a busy night fresh out of the oven. The food was a great contrast to some of the other types of ho-hum pizza joints out there.
I may sound a little bias but i am just a strong cheerleader for small business owners who commit to a vision of creative quality- consistency and customer care and actually execute in one of the most challenging sectors out there...Rougers dont mess around! Well done Vera's”
