“Sat down, ordered, and received our breakfast in less than 7 minutes. They have some morning specials, he got 2 pancakes, bacon, sausage, and 2 eggs, for $9.99. I had 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, 2 pieces of toast for $10.99. Well worth the money. Thank you! Server was attentive .”

“I may have to move to Oakbank, just for the sake of being closer to The Peppercorn Restaurant I haven’t been there since Dec and running so many errands today, I figured I deserved a break, and a rewarding lunch. Alex was my server today, friendly, congenial and downright best service I’ve ever had. She took good care of me and when I went to,pay, she already had my Expresso Chocolate Cheesecake all packed to go. Once home, I chopped off only a small chunk for a start and couldn’t eat any more. This is a 3 meal dessert, enough for 3 meals, wow. My appetizer arrived, hot and steamy. Dry breaded ribs. Seasoned with their special seasonings, , baked in the oven, and served up hot & tasty with lemon wedges. I make ribs at home, and they are the toughest ribs in the universe. This is why I go to The Peppercorn, they know what they are doing. Today I Ordered up the chicken finger lunch entree with soup. 5 large fingers, served up with honey dill sauce. Soup of the day was Mexican. OMG. Homemade right there, it comes steaming’ hot to my table. I inhaled it. Almost licked the bowl. I should have taken a bowl to go. I had it here in the fall and it was just as tasty, maybe even better. Hot, the way soup should be served. Why don’t other restaurants get it? You were meant to chase your passions Art on wall, not just decorative but supporting local artists……And it’s all for sale Flowers on each & every table, were REAL. No really, real. It’s winter, it’s -30F and this restaurant supports the local florist……..Stems & Roses for lovely floral arrangements on each & every table. And each table had a vase of a variety of alstmedia…? Carnations and a big fat beautiful rose. I almost fell over. My server Alex tells me that these roses from Oakbanks “Stems and Roses” stay beautiful for almost 2 weeks. That’s unheard of. The Peppercorn Restaurant is set in the middle, flanked by A Large banquet room in back, ready to cater your event, And a bar on the other side. They have it all. Plus some of the tastiest entrees in Manitoba. So, tell me, why don’t I see other Oakbank residents here? Is it too reasonably priced for you? You like to travel into Wpg. And pay a fortune for cardboard tasting food and bad service? Great! More room for my family! Owners Doug & Kristine are always in, available and hands on. Highly recommended, 10 of 10 stars. Going back next week.”

“Enjoyed an amazing meal here with my husband as an early Mother’s Day dinner. A unique and pleasant atmosphere with stellar service, meal and dessert. The beet chips were a heavenly starter! The pike and fish and chips were winners. Would definitely highly recommend. I am so glad my husband found this spot as it was so worth it. Walking through the village was serene and enjoyed a little shopping in the village as well. Loved the animal area as we were introduced to some goats and sheep! “Place is fantastic! Never had a bad meal, even when we are a larger group. Sad they took my favourite away, but that just meant I have to find a new fave.
Service is usually a tad slow, but not neglectful, just not much hustle. They’re super friendly, though, for the most part.

“Tonight my family and I finally tried Candy’s Chicken for the first time. It’s been on our list for a while — I’ve seen it come highly recommended on Reddit and in various local Facebook groups — and now I get why!

We ordered the Dinner for 4, and honestly, the chicken is incredible — way better than that dude in the white suit. This is hands down the best chicken dinner in the city. The fries, gravy, and buns were all great too, and we added a container of coleslaw on the side — even that was miles ahead of the glow-in-the-dark stuff you get at “the other place.””
