Great food, wine and great sommelier. Always a wonderful time to sit in the lounge and enjoy the ambience.
Excellent food and top-notch service. My only ‘room for improvement' thought concerns the music. Last time we dined there, there was soft jazz style music playing in the background. Such music (I find anyway) is generally conducive to relaxing conversation. This time it was a mix of odd modern-pop' (?) that we found to be a little too loud and at times a little irritating.
The food was impeccable. I had the oysters for a start (super fresh and delicious - from PEI) and then had a 8 oz fillet that was cooked perfectly as ordered. It was coupled with some delicious BC wine. All in all I would give the experience a 10/10 and if I ever stop in Winnipeg again this would be on my schedule for sure! The server was very professional and his service was meticulous and right on time.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely ! We always look forward to special occasions at Hy's!! The food is absolutely amazing. The only comment I have is that a Caesar salad for $20+ should feed more than 2 people. Skimpy amount of lettuce. Otherwise I always love the fact that it's made fresh is the experience ! Thanks to our waiter Benjamin for being so attentive!
Our waiter was very friendly and had a great sense of humour that made our day. The meal was delicious and finished off with the dessert. Fantastic night out Thank you
The hostess personally walked us to the tunnel back to the hotel, I mean it was a wonderful experience start to finish.
Excellent upscale steak house. One of the best in Winnipeg. Amazing service with knowledgeable staff.
Hope was an amazing server / the food was excellent / my spouse said it was the best meal she's had in a long while and we do eat out 3-4x a month throughout the world. They even gave us an extra appetizer just bc I think it was our anniversary dinner and they wanted to showcase the heir dish. I had the 13oz steak medium rare with lobster tail. They cut the tail in front of me. The Sangiovese bottle of are we had was too shelf! Winnipeg is fortunate to have such a nice restaurant! Thank you Hy's for making our night special. Nikki and Jim
My experience was amazing. The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The prices was worthy for the atmosphere. Servers and staff members were very friendly and polite. Delicacy and manners were at the table. Totally recommend.
We came in before the Jets game with friends. What a great way to get ready for the game! The staff and atmosphere at Hy's is second to none!! Thanks for a great evening!

My partners steak was over cooked they made her a new one however by the time hers came out we were done eating. We were here to celebrate her birthday very disappointed send an email to Carly the manager no response back
We came to hys for our anniversary. The service was fine, food came quickly. However, I was very disappointed with the lobster and steak combo. For $110+ it was so small. See attached picture. My striploin quality was very poor, full of grizzle and fat which made it is less enjoyable. The bananas Foster was the best thing we had. We weren't offered anything to celebrate our anniversary, other places in the city gave us free glass of champagne etc in past years, and while it is not expected , its always nice. What we received vs the price of the everything, it really wasnt worth it. There are similar steakhouses and fine dining in the city for the same price or less, with better tasting food and hospitality.
Would not go again. William our waiter was lovely. Did NOT appreciate when they brought patrons from a private room into our dining area to do a “table side” service making steak. They lined up chairs for 4 people and blocked the exit. Filled the restaurant with smoke to the point of the fire alarm going off. We were done and paid at this point but could not leave bc they had the exit blocked. Then the washrooms are on the bottom level. As a person with a disability I couldn't walk back up the many flights of stairs and the elevators were out of service. For what we spent it was absolutely the worst experience I've had. Better off at the Keg. Didn't even offer a discount. When we asked why they had the exit blocked bc we wanted to leave before all this we were told they could t do it in the private room bc it would set off the alarm.
We were two couples for special night out, we have been to many high end restaurants around the world. The service and the ambiance was very nice. Not spectacular but very nice. We all had either the fillet or the bone in strip steak special. We had for appetizers, oysters, crab cake, ahi tuna and cheese toast. The sides were roast potatoes, asparagus, mashed potatoes and loaded baked potato. Our deserts were key lime pie and crème brûlée The steaks were cooked to temp, less tender than we expected and unseasoned. The oysters were very good, although quite small. The crab cake was bland and non descriptive, the tuna was nice and fresh but not memorable, there signature cheese toast was a piece of bread with cheese on it and put under the broiler, reminded me of what my mother gave us for a snack in grade school. Not a signature app at all high end steak house. The roast potatoes were soft and mushy with very little texture or flavour other than salt, the asparagus and mashed potatoes were good and the “loaded” baked potato was ok. The deserts were ok. The key lime pie was not very limey at all. All in all it was a nice night out but not worth the $967.67( with tip) bill. We did have a drink each and cheaper bottle of wine with dinner.
Hy's Winnipeg did not disappoint. Great service and consistent high quality food and beverage offerings !
