10 stars if I could! Service, food, quality, efficiency, and an incredible wine list made for a fantastic evening. Our server had plenty of personality along with wine knowledge.

My family and I had a fantastic evening at Hy’s. Food and service was wonderful, and our server went out of his way to make my father’s birthday special. However, to top off the evening, I left one of my belongings in the restroom. I did not realize this until I heard the wonderful hostess, who must have run at top speed to catch up to us, arrive behind my family as we exited through the Fairmont. She took the time to personally run my belongings back to me, something she was not obligated to do in the slightest. I could not have been more greatful for her. From the bottom of my heart every staff member we met was accommodating and kind.

The chair cushion was a quite low into the chair. I much prefer a firmer chair where your buttock isn't surrounded by the rim of the chair but you're lifted somewhat. The scallops were delicious but a somewhat raw in the middle. The service was excellent, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the menu. Overall, it was an excellent time with friends and family

Our dinner was for 4 people .Three of our meals were outstanding. But , My Grandsons meal was not up the reputation that this restaurant deserves. This was his first time to HYs , and I think he was somewhat disappointed with his meal. He ordered the Beef Wellington. His meal came, and it was obvious that it was undercooked, to the way he ordered his meal. It was obviously too rare , and hard to be edible. The meal was sent back , and when it was returned, it was obviously very undercooked, to be presented in this matter. I tried to order him a separate meal , but he went on to pick over the meal in front on him. I hope I can bring him back again to try a different plate in the future.

From the cozy bar for happy hour to the dining room for an amazing dinner its a great place for an evening.

Great spot for a happy hour on a Friday. Live music in the lounge, excellent service, creative cocktails, and a good selection of apps.

In the building, was waiting for ride , had to exit Richardson via side doors beside the spin doors on Lombard.
Requested Emergency use of restroom.
Was cruelly denied by hostess until I offered her $20 to let me use it.
Ran downstairs, accessed restroom and cried.
I understand location is downtown etc. But it felt really dehumanizing being dismissed coldly in a situation that felt like a personal emergency.
Not sure if racial profiling or if Hy's has negative experiences with local inner city populations? Or if people like me are not welcome at such prestigious establishments ? Unclear to me.

I love the setting in this restaurant. The food is always good. It has become a bit pricey, but not out of line for a high end restaurant. I would appreciate a Canadian cab sauv on the wine menu. The cheese toast is too much like a "cheese whiz in the oven" for my taste. Everyone in my group enjoyed their steak, seafood options, and salads. Eric is just finishing his training, was very pleasant, and found the answers to our questions.
