This is my fav place yet, I have tried about a dozen spots so far including over priced wasabis, sucks no more dine in. But still my go to, worst spot ever was the buffet close to University of Winnipeg, absolutely terrible service, ignored us until we went to leave after having 1 roll each and we just left 20$ on the table and tried to leave. Paid for 1 buffet for 2 people and told them to go fly a kite!!!!
Excellent as always. Super friendly owners and staff. Love the cowboy hat. Everything is always fresh and meets our expectations. I’m always looking forward to the next time I get to bring home Sushi Maru!

I haven't been there for a while so when I went there to pick up take out last week. I was surprised to see no more dine in. I used to enjoy eating inside the restaurant. Food is still fantastic.

Sushi Maru offers a variety of fresh and delicious sushi rolls and dishes, with standouts including the spicy crunch shrimp, chicken rolls, and bakkudan rolls. The sashimi is exceptional. The restaurant also serves tasty miso soup, yakisoba, and udon noodles. While the dining area is currently closed and can be a bit messy, the takeout food is of high quality, surpassing other local sushi restaurants. The staff is friendly and service is good. Customers appreciate the fresh ingredients, well-made rice, and the quality of the rolls like Angry Shrimp, Angry Tuna, Dark Knife, and spicy shrimp crunch roll. Many have enjoyed ordering here for years, and although some issues like sandy shrimp can occur, the overall experience remains positive. The restaurant is small and quiet, and takeout orders are highly recommended, especially since they are doing only takeout during Covid.
