gumbo was perfect... hit the spot!
UPDATE - sometimes when you have a bad experience it can not be attributed to the chef, sometimes a bad apple can ruin an experience. After chatting with the owner i definitely needed to come back and update my review. Instead of R house i will be checking out their store front location for another chance.
We stopped at Creole Soul Restaurant during a walk from Lake Montebello to Druid Hill Lake and ordered the jerk salmon and grits, fried catfish and grits, and hot lemon pepper wings.

The grits were the standout—rich, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. Both plates delivered there.

The wings, however, were a miss. They were overcooked to the point of being burned, lacked heat, and didn’t have the expected lemon pepper flavor. That’s a noticeable gap between...read full review
