Jollof Bowl Reviews
The food is okay, but not nearly spicy enough for what i'm used to when at other West African places. Maybe it's unfair because i'm just used to more spicy versions of Nigerian dishes, but this didn't hit the mark for me. Still a great addition for the market though
Came from an Instagram post and it didn’t disappoint! The food was flavorful, we got there when a fresh batch was made. It was a decent amount of food, but still a little pricey for just a bowl with no sides or drinks - value could be improved (almost $50 for two bowls, a side, and a drink). Definitely a must try.
A little pricey

Jollof Bowl offers a vibrant taste of West African flavors, described as a "Chipotle" version for those new to the cuisine. The staff is highlighted for being super helpful, patient, and kind, taking their time to guide customers and offer great suggestions based on spice tolerance and dietary needs. They even allow sampling of different items before deciding.
The food is praised as amazing, with dishes that are spicy and flavorful. Even simple options like rice with marinara-style sauce and spicy coleslaw are noted as delicious and next level. Customers enjoyed meals such as spaghetti with goat and beef, and the lamb, though sometimes unavailable, is a highly anticipated item. The Jollof rice is described as light, fluffy, and super flavorful. Other popular components include tender, spiced beef, diced fried plantains, caramelized onions, and a rich tomato stew.
The restaurant has a notable presence, often with a line, especially in its Cross St Market location. While some reviews mention long lines, customers feel the wait is worth it for the great portion and flavor for the cost. Parking can be minimal, suggesting parking on S. Charles street. There was also a note about an incorrect closing time on Doordash. Jollof Bowl also offers Halal options.
