Geneva made us feel like the most important part of the experience at Judy’s Island Grill. Snapper was at market price but affordable and worth it. Also had the oxtail burrito which was flavorful and filling. Cabbage was delicious. David was hospitable and made boozy rum punches. The Mango margarita was too sweet for my preference. We came on a Thursday around lunch time and service was quick!

Geneva’s customer service was terrific. When I walked in the door, I intended to get a to-go plate of the oxtail burrito. I received my box and thought to take a bite. I completely devoured the meal. I got a Red Stripe from the fantastic bartender to wash it down. After a long day of meetings and a visit to my aunt, I finished my day amazingly.

Hey y’all so I currently reside in Texas, but I am originally from Baltimore Maryland so when I arrive from my flight on Saturday, my cousin took me to Judy’s island Grill in the Canton area. I ordered a Curry goat and a ginger pineapple drink. My cousin ordered curry chicken and a beef patty, so the ambience of Judy’s it’s a very, very welcome and very warm great ambience to the eyes. The bar area is nice. It’s really big very roomy. The bartender was very attentive, but as we waited and waited and waited like any other Jamaican restaurant the wait turnaround time for the food was 45 minutes, remember I just said I just landed into Baltimore so I’m hungry very hungry so after 45 minutes, the young lady brings us our food .We had ordered our food to go, but since we had to wait so long for our food to come we opened our food at the bar and which the young lady immediately informed us that we weren’t allowed to do such an act so she advised us that we would have to eat our food pretty much in our car. The bar was empty at the time and she did not even offer to say hey this is the charge if you guys want to eat in because we were willing to pay, but that wasn’t an option that was given my curry goat was very tough in texture and rice was good my plantain was very good n sweetThe pineapple ginger drink was truly amazing. I had two of those before I even left out the restaurant, but all in all the customer service was good. We just had that hiccup with the young lady, kicking us out outside for us to eat our food but you know I’m Jamaican descent so I didn’t really want to give Judy a bad review but you guys know that I’m truly honest about my experiences .

I want to say that I love the staff and vibe at this location. I have been coming faithfully for “home cooked” food since they opened. My family is out of state and it has been difficult finding vibes, food and community in Baltimore that felt authentic. While they have had some rotations of staff, they have finally found a team that works with both service and food. Geneva the manager has such a warm and pleasant demeanor. Always willing to go above and beyond, working the room and making sure people feel “welcome”. David’s humor and charisma lights up the room- let him surprise you with a suggested drink. Ben’s warm demeanor, greets you pleasantly at the bar. Corey, the supervisor- gives the warmest welcomes and always makes sure top quality leaves the kitchen. Terrence, and Dennis cook from the heart. My sautéed okra- a little spicy(requested) always on point. Derricka’s energy and glow add an extra flair to an ambiance that makes the food taste even better. I love the fired dumplings! But my fav has to be the saltfish cooked your way. Every now and again I cheat on saltfish and get the escovitched fish with sautéed veg (thank me later). You can’t miss with the oxtail platter. But even more exciting, is the updated menu- New options. oh and let’s not forget live music and karaoke. Canton was missing a little something and I have definitely found it in this gem of a place. And if you are wondering, yes, I come often and if you dine in- you get more than food- you def get family. Great staff, great food, great vibes. Come and enjoy yourself, many times over.

Geneva was amazinggggg please give her a raise pleaseeee. Her service was excellent. The food is soooooo amazing. I even heard a customer sayin as they’re leaving that they couldn’t even finish their food because the portions were that big. Yasssss??? A don’t get me started on the oxtail fettuccine was sooooo good that my baby keep taking my food off my plate.
