Spot - cozy. Wait staff - awesome and attentive. Manager - one of the best people I've met in my career. Kitchen - absolutely on point. This is hands down one of the last few old gems of downtown Bethesda and there aren't many left!
House of Milae is a local gem serving quality authentic Korean cuisine. Working my way through their menu, I’ve found every dish to be well-seasoned and comforting. I regularly order beef gimbap, which always hits the spot. The kimchi fried rice is brilliant. The kimchi jigae and tteokguk stews are perfect as hearty meals on cold nights. Was craving bibimbap. Got the large vegetarian bibimbap. It came with carrot, lettuce(?), bean sprouts. I thought it came with tofu, and the waiter informed me that’s a (free) option that I should insist on. He also didn’t bring it up. I have never seen such a sad bibimbap before with 3 toppings on it. The large portion was pretty small and I left still feeling hungry.
