Levain Bakery is a really popular spot conveniently located among the multiple shops within Bethesda. Staff are kind, friendly, professional, and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Service is friendly and very fast. The shop smells so good. Cookies are thick cookie central and always a hit. Cookies are large, moist, and tasty. Taste was good overall, with a contrast in textures between the crisp exterior and soft interior. The must haves are the seasonal cookies, carrot cake and lemon. The chocolate chip walnut is preferred over the seasonal carrot cake. The raisin scone is a favorite, and the cherry scone for cherry blossom season is fabulous. Scones and cookies are always fresh. The Vegan Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Walnut has a rich flavor profile but is very dense. No seating is available in-store. Prices feel a bit on the higher side and are on the high end.
