“I'm not sure why this place has such a terrible rating but I really didn't think it was that bad honestly it was actually pretty good if it wasn't for the very bland cabbage more on that later Here's what ended up getting Goat curry: excellent. When you get goat it will be full of bones but they didn't just give bones they gave lots of meat and gravy and I had no complaints it was cooked extremely well and goat is very hard to do well kudos to irie Cafe lol Roti: I do find it confusing that they called it roti because in my parents culture, Indian, which is where these type of food originate, the thing that they served is not considered roti but called dal puri So it is bread with a stuffing. It's excellent but was not something that I was expecting to eat with the goat curry nevertheless I have nothing to complain about it because it was excellent One of the major gripes I have as you'll see with the picture is that they put the roti underneath the goat curry and I would have preferred to have it wrapped in foil separately so that I could tear it up as I like. Maybe that's how they eat it in the Caribbean but that it just was something I didn't care for. Cabbage: extremely bland and tasteless. I couldn't take more than two bites of it. Not that I threw it away of course why would I do that? I'm going to have to modify it with my version when I revamp it but that's something I think they really need to improve on Sorrel drink: excellent I love it I would like to buy more of it if I could lol You order at a counter and it's kind of like cafeteria style It is excellent. The guy who's at the counter is very personable and friendly. Price I think is a little bit hefty however you do get a good quantity of food. I paid 30 bucks for all of the above Parking is freeing a lot. Ambiance is nice. I did not use the bathroom but I did eat inside and it was clean I wish that they had more readily available access to utensils Overall I think this is a win .I'd come again.“
“Whether you're craving classic Jamaican jerk or want to brunch out on curry, Negril is the place for real deal island flavor. Be sure to order their Sorrel Hibiscus/Ginger drink, it’s delicious and perfectly accompanies your meal. Negril is an absolute gem for those craving a delicious taste of Jamaica without leaving town. Highly recommended!“
“Their food is really good the wait is not too bad and the prices are reasonable this is my go-to when I don't feel like cooking at dinner jerk chicken sandwich is fulling reasonably priced and it tastes pretty good.Kid-friendliness: Nice spot.“
“Had a Jamaican Pattie once over 20 yrs ago and it made a huge impact on me then. You can taste the heat from the scotch bonnet which at the time, was the most delicious and spiciest thing I had had ever. Today’s brought back those memories. We also ordered the chix curry and oxtail stew, which all came in perfectly made. This might just become our weekly lunches delivery staple!“
“It's carry out & delivery only place. Menu is basically 5 main platters with choice of chicken, goat or fish (shrimp).Tried Curry chicken with side rice & steamed cabbage. Portion is good with plenty of flavor. Pricewise, with tips it will set you for $20.Recommend: curry crazy - if willing to experiment, goat. Steamed cabbage as side.Parking: On street & behind the place, but busy.“
“I've ordered from Jam Doung Style twice now, but know that I will keep coming back. The first time I ordered the brown stew chicken with cabbage, rice and pea and a side of plantains. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful, while the cabbage was perfectly shredded and reminded me of my own. The plantains were delicious and I figured it couldn't get better. However, I recently ordered through UberEats and they blew me away! Roughly just over an hour before the restaurant closed, I ordered a combo meal with jerk and curry, chicken, rice and peas, Mac & cheese and cabbage. I also ordered a similar meal for my son. We also ordered cocoa bread, a beef patty and plantains. I received a phone call from the restaurant within two minutes of ordering, to let me know that they were out of plantains. The sweet lady I spoke with asked if I would like an additional beef patty to which I said yes. To my surprise, an order of plantains were in my bag when the food arrived! I was so happy I called the restaurant back to thank them. Then we ate... Oh my!! The food reminded me of a home cooked meal I had when visiting Jamaica many years ago. Where do I start?? The plantains were perfectly ripe with caramelized edges and the tender jerk chicken was perfectly spiced. The curry chicken literally fell off the bone...Everything, and I do mean everything, was perfect, including the Mac & cheese! The portions are huge and I had my leftovers for breakfast the following day. Jam Doung is well worth a visit. Try them, you will not be disappointed!“
“Wow. Amazing flavor. The jerk chicken was mind blowing smoky goodness and paired perfectly with sweet habanero sauce. Everything else was excellent - rice and peas, cabbage stir fry, candied yams, collard greens, reggae rice, fried plantains, and porridge.“
“I love Just Jerk. I've been going there for years! The food is good and they stay busy. My favorite is the curry chicken and the jerk chicken sandwiches. My husband loves the stew chicken. Call ahead if you can. I definitely recommend this business.“
“The food was 10/10 and the costumer service was 20/10!!! They went above and beyond to provide the catering meal I had order, we forgot to pick up the salads and someone (might have been the GM) drove all the way to DC to bring the salads himself so that we could have the full meal. AMAZING! Our people loved the meal and we are so grateful!!“
“This is a no-frills place and kind of funky, which I like. We arrived on a Friday evening around 8 pm and it was rather busy. It took 30 minutes to make our food, menawhile we sat at a table listening to the vibrant music being played downstairs and the different music eminating from the bar upstairs. When our food was ready, it came in plastic containers with plastic utensils. We did tell them we were eating in, and I do wish they developed the ability to provide re-usable tableware to save the environment. Aside from that, the food was terrific, our conversation was easy, we did not have to shout over too loud music. It is one of favourite places in the area for Jamaican food.“
“I stopped here for lunch today. I was WOWED with how clean the outside was and WOWED again with a very warm welcome from the gentleman and lady that was serving and cashing out. I was coming from a 1 hour drive and needed to use the restroom. The restroom was the cleanest restroom I have ever used at a Jamaican restaurant located in America. Everything was going well until I disappointed myself by only being able to eat one meal. I had a mixed lunch (fried chicken and curry goat). The curry goat was seasoned to the bone and very soft. I usually don't eat chicken breast/ white meat, but that's all they had left, so I took a chance and never had any regrets. The chicken was soft, well fried, seasoned, and juicy. Don't think I need to say much more. The evidence is in the picture showing what was left of my meal.“
“I don’t understand why some people reviews say what they say because I never have an issue. Ordered my food and got it within 5-7mins. Meat falling off the bone ? rice well cooked ? coco bread is always GREAT. I usually get curry which is also good but I wanted to try the brown chicken stew this time. AMAZING. Love this spot “
“Went Today & Ordered The Red Snapper Escovitch With Rice & Peas & Cabbage. Everything Was GREAT! The Customer Service Was Amazing, They Were Patient With Me Because I Was Indecisive On What I Wanted. Decided On The Snapper & Glad I Did, It Was AMAZING. I'll Definitely Be Back! Pardon The Picture, I Started Eating! Lol“
“Gotta give this place another try! Food has gotten 10x better! From the moment I walked in—I knew something was different! I could smell the freshly prepared food! They seem to have new chefs who care about the food they are cooking, and serving. I had curry goat, and curry chicken with rice & beans. It was sooo good! Everything was properly seasoned, was served hot, and was reasonably priced! Will definitely come back! Big thanks to Stanley, and his new chefs! Best Jamaican food in the area now! ????“
“Let me get straight to the point....This is the best Jamaican food I've ever had.Period.The oxtails fell of the doggone bone y'all!!!And they were seasoned masterfully. Somebody in that kitchen knew exactly what they were doing! At other restaurants, they usually add too much clove or one spice is dominant above all others. The seasoning on these oxtails was perfectly balanced. The rice and peas were absolutely delicious. The rice was delightfully chewy and ever so slightly sweet. The shredded cabbage had the perfect mix of crunch and spice. And speaking of spicy, let's talk about this sorrel. I've never had sorrel with so much ginger. This drink has some BITE baby.... get you some of that!!The beef patty was flaky, a little spicy and very good. There was a little too much crust (or maybe not enough filling) for me, but it didn't take away from the taste at all.Aside from the incredible food, young lady behind the counter was very nice. Jamaican spots are not really known for their hospitality but it was great to get a plate of incredible food, minus the attitude.Aside from a few seats inside of the restaurant, there is also a small bar as well as a seating area outside with a fire pit. I might have to come back and bring my girls. This spot closes at 8:00 p.m. during the week (9:00 p.m. on Saturday), so make sure you get here in time to get you a plate of this deliciousness.“
