“I am part Polish. My great grandmother came from there to Ellis Island in 1906. She raised my Mother who is now in an assisted living environment less than 1 mile away from this place. I am always looking for little things to help brighten her day when I visit several times a week. Polka Deli in has proven to be an ideal solution and helping me meet that goal. My earliest memories are eating freshly made pierogies and kielbasa in my great grandmothers kitchen with my mom and others. Enjoying the amazing food and snacks I’ve picked up here helps both of us during these very difficult times as she is confined to a bed over 90% of the time. She only eats a few bites so my diet is not improving but getting the smile from her and as we drift in and out of memories together is priceless.“

“On A Roll is truly a hidden gem inside a large office building. The receptionist at the front kindly pointed me back toward the cafe. The setting is open and pleasant with both regular tables and clusters of comfortable chairs. The freshly made breakfast wrap was just what I needed. A side of corn nuggets (like mini fritters) were nice and crispy. Fresh coffee and a brownie were a good way to finish. Staff are friendly and parking is plentiful. A great start to my day.“

“Just happened on this deli while wandering around as tourists. Saw the lines of locals and realized this is where we want to eat. The ambiance is pure deli. Everything clean and appropriate. The food is solid. Everything tasted fresh and good: Simple and pure. We met the mom and pop owners who ended up realizing we were tourists and gave us pointers on what to see and how to order food in the region. Ended up chatting about life in general. “Solid family-owned deli serving up bagels and sandwiches for a relatively reasonable price. The turkey avocado sandwich was good but needed a little salt and pepper. They don’t bake their bread or bagels or smoke their meats in-house, but it’s still a decent spot if you’re in the neighborhood. I’ll be back to try a breakfast bagel.“

“The white hot chocolate was AMAZING! HOWEVER, I asked for almond milk and the cashier said it was going to be an extra charge, I said that’s fine but then he turned to woman making my chocolate and said whole milk was fine?! She also looked annoyed at having to redo my chocolate.“

The flavors are popping off my tongue as I enjoy the most juicy steak & cheese. This is somewhere to stop by and watch the game while you eat in their social seating area (with enough TVs and comfortable chairs).

I was just stopping by after a visit to Catholic University. My choice was better than many alternatives (McDonalds, and such). The atmosphere is “family/college”.

“Perfectly toasted and buttered bagel. The staff was friendly. The other patrons were very friendly as they could easily tell we were tourists. I like to go where the locals go when on vacation. This is the type of establishment I'd gladly support on a regular basis if I lived in the area. The store was clean. The food was freshly prepared. The location is convenient.Check this place out if you are visiting the area. The locals already know how great this place is.“

“Love this place. Walk in the door and immediately to the right is Lawd Shawarma! A wonderfully warm meal of fish & eggs with vegan bread and Christmas-spiced Sorrel / Hibiscus drink. No matter what they call the next respiratory illness, no matter if you need to starve a flu or feed a cold. Problem solved for me. Lawd! I thank you.“

“I've known about this place for years. They have been there for many years, so it's like a mom and pop type of café. I used to work not far from it and my boss used to order their reuben sandwiches for the entire office back in the day on Fridays. Now, I no longer work in DC, but I make it a habit of going there just to get their Reuben sandwiches. They use kosher meat so the meat is delicious. I have tried other reuben sandwiches at other places and there is no match to the reuben sandwiches here. I no longer eat them anywhere else anymore because whenever I do, I'm always disappointed. So if you're looking for a fantastic amazing reuben sandwich this is the place to go. I have never ordered anything else on the menu when I go there. One day maybe I'll try their fish sandwiches because I heard they are good too. So I give them a 5 out of 5 stars.“

“I'm from out of town but, as a seasoned traveler, I spotted a UPS delivery driver eating and noticed the plain foil wrap he was holding. That was a sign of flavor packed simple food. He told me where to buy it and went straight there. Chicken Madness is what I order and at first impression, the sandwich was fresh hot in temperature. Then, when I took the first bite I was reborn. I would love to visit DC again and most definitely stop by for 3 of these amazing sandwiches.“

“Been going here since I was a senior in high school and now Iam in '60s!
They have wonderful homemade sauces and delicious cheese options. They also have frozen foods that you can take home and heat up.
Love their mortadella but they also have other cold cuts.
They make in my opinion the best pizza in town. You can order a whole pie with toppings of your choice or you can just drop in and grab a slice or two. Empanada, Spanish pie and subs are highly recommend.“

“Generous Joe's is a staple of the Greenbelt Community and not only is it a great place to eat with good food but was also a great place to work at, Joe was a great owner and Aaron a great Manager. I am happy to see the place grow and to see the new ideas that are coming into play under the ownership of Aaron while still maintaining and respecting the tradition of Joe's as well. So definitely recommend if your in Greenbelt to stop by definitely recommend the Steak and Cheese w/ Green peppers :P“

“Solid little deli. This is basically DeliClub under new ownership and many of the menu items remained the same. I'm a fan of the avocado BLT and the chicken curry sandwich.Sandwiches come with a bag of chips.

I'm about to eat a very tasty Cobb salad 🥗 Lettuces, cucumbers, tomato 🍅 black olives, red onion, 🥑 avacado bacon 🥓 a lite sprinkle of cheddar cheese 🧀 and a boiled 🥚 egg. They have a balsamic vinagret dressing that is so good. I recommend this place. They serve all sorts of food, there's something for every taste. I've had breakfast from there and chicken salad subs and smoothies that you can have to your taste. If you're in Greenbelt @ 7501 Greenway Center Drive the smell of their food cooking will pull you in...around the corner to Uptown Deli.“
