“Casual, old-timey bar & grill in a rural setting on the water. Diner quality food was good & plentiful. Staff were efficient and friendly. Fair prices. Plenty of free parking. A unique little antique shop right across the road made the trip even more fun.“
“The food was amazing, again! I had the Blackened Louisiana Swamp burger, my oldest son had the Hell Fire burger, and my youngest son had the Catfish Platter. All very amazing! Love coming here. Would frequent it more often if we lived a little closer, but we make the trip when we can. We love the food and the service.“
“We have had our company holiday party at The Golf Club at South River for the 2nd year in a row. The venue is beautiful! It's a lovely rustic but beautiful setting with pretty views out of every window. The communication before the event was amazing. The staff was able to work with us within our budget. We had a fantastic dinner, buffet style and chose from a wide variety of options on their menus. The staff was fantastic and handled the last minute requests from my boss (AV requests for a presentation that wasn't mentioned prior) quickly and without a moment of hesitation. All in all, our staff and their guests had a wonderful time as we enjoyed a very special night out. We are all employees at a 24-hour medical facility so these nights are very few and far between and it was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this beautiful venue!“
“Every single thing I have ordered from this place is amazing! Their ranch dressing is definitely made in house and would be delicious on ice cream! Their atomic bls are the perfect lunch food and their fries are always served hot. I love the feel of the restaurant, very quant little place not too big and the bar tenders are the sweetest! Whenever calling for a pick up order they are always so sweet and know exactly how to answer any questions or let you know about any new items or promos they may be having for the day or week. “The food is amazing I had the catfish and collard greens and potato salad. That was without a doubt the best catfish I’ve ever had. The collards were excellent as well.This place is a taster, not a looker. It’s not what you expect when you come looking for a diner. “My son and I enjoyed this place! Great location and view of the harbor. Our server Lacey was so sweet and she recommended some appetizers that we really enjoyed. We ordered the crab dip which was delicious. It was served with garlic butter bread which paired well with the dip. The potatoes hush puppies were amazing. Perfect crunch on the outside stuffed with perfectly seasoned mash potatoes. We also ordered the bumpy burger with homemade thousand island dressing and the steak tacos. Both were well prepared and mouth watering. Additional their fries aspired with their homemade ranch dressing was just as delicious. Highly recommended this place. It’s worth the drive. My family and I will be back.“
“I went with friends and had crab dip, lasagna, glass of wine and apple pie. The crab dip tasted more like cream cheese with a bit of crab than crabby; I wouldn't order it again. The lasagna was fresh but too cheesy; it overwhelmed the flavor. The waiter suggested I get extra sauce but it never came. The Syrah wine was crisp and smooth. The apple pie was excellent with a thick crust, lots of nuts and filling and had a yummy buttery taste. I recommend it.I like the ambiance and the family ownership feel of the place. The staff is well trained and efficient. We were annoyed by the numerous times (at least 6) someone stopped by to check on us. It became a distraction to our conversations. Further, we felt very rushed; they provide about 1:45 minutes to dine and they mean it. I suggest dining with no more than 2 people to make it worth the visit.I really like the place but the owner responses to the negative reviews have me concerned if I were to have an issue. I'll be joining a group of 8 soon so I hope it all goes well and we are not rushed in and out. I do another review afterwards.“
“We ordered food to go and had a couple drinks while we waited. The bartender was super nice and efficient and kept us updated on our food. We didn't have to wait long. I ordered the club, which was great, and my husband ordered the crabcake sandwich and said it was one of the best he's ever had.“

“Omg! Absolutely amazing! Homemade food everything handmade everything on point! Cute restaurant run by the family that owns it! I also heard tell of some delicious cupcakes they get every Thursday that are a must try! But hurry cuz they go quick! And if you're looking for an amazing delicious breakfast I recommend stopping in they have breakfast and lunch from open to close! The breakfast potatoes wow! The French toast yum yum yum! The people so friendly! If you're looking for a cute little hole in the wall with some amazing food I recommend heading to the Driftwood Diner!!“
“Small update for 3/22/24: Pirate's Cove is undergoing some interior renovations. The bulk of the work is done, right now they are buttoning a few things up. The back bar has been expanded and opens up into the back dining room. The dining area up front is now closed off and labeled as a "lounge" area. The lounge has a bar in it but you can apparently be seated there for regular dining. The lobby is more open now as well. The menu has not changed...the original review is posted below and still stands.Original review: The food and atmosphere here are pretty good...the waterfront view of the West River is nice and the dining area is pretty nice, though if it gets busy in there it can be a bit noisy.The menu is focused on seafood but does offer some chicken, red meat, and pasta dishes. Soups are limited - I only noticed 2 crab soups and gazpacho (which really just seems like crushed tomatoes with cucumber pieces and seasonings) on the menu.The calamari appetizer is good; large rings that are battered, subtly seasoned, and deep fried to a nice golden brown. They taste very good and are served with a warm marinara sauce.The various entrees all look good; be sure to ask about the daily specials as there always seems to be something different on special. I've had something different each time I've been here and haven't been let down. The only issue we've ever had was with a salmon dish that initially came out undercooked...they just threw it back on the grill and then it came out burnt.Pricing is a bit on the high side here. Many of the entrees are closer to the $30 mark, but they do have a few that are under $20. Expect to pay at least $50 or more for 2 people when coming here for dinner. If a couple gets drinks, appetizer, soups, and entrees, you could hit the $100 mark very easily.In summary, the food is good but given the prices, it's more of a "once in a while" place to go for the average diner.“

“The food is perfect, the location is great, the service is top tier, and they have onsite security. So with that said, bring at least $20 to $50 per person. My order was $50 with tip, but it was worth every penny. I tried to take pics of my food like I normally do, but I was too busy eating it. I highly recommend getting the Fillet Medallions (Rare), Sweet Potato Fries, and Saulteed Vegetables. You will not be disappointed.“
