We showed up at 5pm on Black Friday for what we thought was our yearly reservation…turns out it had never gone through when my mom made it this year and we didn’t realize it! But another employee came over, worked some magic, and got us seated at a table within minutes. We enjoyed our dinner and when it came time for dessert we were reassured that we didn’t need to rush (we weren’t sure if they needed our table for another reservation). We come here every year for the great food and friendly service, but this time was extra special as they worked through an issue that was our oversight, not theirs!

We celebrated our anniversary here, and the entire experience was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening special, and the atmosphere was perfect. The highlight of the night was the complimentary champagne they offered us for our anniversary toast — such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. The food was outstanding, the service was attentive, and we truly felt welcomed and appreciated. Highly recommend for any special celebration!

Has slipped a notch. Good is good but not amazing. Wines by the glass could be better. Overall, just not fine dining.

The food is amazing and exhibits creative and inventive use of ingredients. The portions are not too large, but the taste impact is huge and exhilarating. The noise level is conducive to conversation - thank you for that. Our server, Rachel, was knowledgeable and pleasant. We'll look forward to returning.

The food was outstanding. My wife had the filet mignon and I had the stone bass. Everything was prepared perfectly.. I do think it was overpriced for what we got and how I compare to other similar restaurants. Service was exceptional. Can we come here when we visit Frederick?

Food prices are up everywhere so it's relatable to state it was expensive. That said, the food was prepared by a trained executive chef - creative, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented , piping hot. Cocktails were crafty and expertly made. We immensely enjoyed ourselves!

My wife had the Steak and I had the Pork Chop. Both were very good. The Molden Butter cake dessert was excellent.

We had a great anniversary dinner, and appreciated the restaurant honoring our request for a quieter table location in the restaurant due to hearing impairment in our party. The food was excellent, and the server (Rachel) was the perfect balance of attentive but not rushing our meal experience. We'd definitely go again!

We chose this place almost randomly for our anniversary dinner. We were blown away by the food (the lobster soup is genuinely outstanding, I will be thinking about it forever), the service, and the overall vibe. Will gladly return!

I would definitely recommend making a reservation at The Tasting Room, as it’s a popular choice for fine dining in downtown Frederick, where options are somewhat limited.

For parking, the Church Street garage is your best bet, though if you’re lucky, you might find parallel street parking nearby.

I’ve dined here twice for dinner, and while the food is quite good, the atmosphere didn’t fully resonate with me. Both visits were for date nights, but I found the seating arrangements to be a bit too cramped, with tables placed very close together. The noise level was quite high, making it difficult to have a quiet conversation. Being right downtown, sirens frequently sounded outside, adding to the distraction. At times, I could overhear conversations from neighboring tables, and we had to repeat ourselves to hear each other clearly. That said, this was on a busy Saturday night, so weekday experiences might be more subdued.

On the bright side, their happy hour is fantastic—though it’s bar-only—and the cocktails are delicious. While I’m not the biggest fan of the espresso martini, the Lily Pad is my go-to, and their old-fashioned is consistently solid.

Overall, The Tasting Room is a great spot for a quick drink or a more casual outing, and with a reservation, it’s well worth a visit.

Always a top shelf experience! Cynthia, Jess and Jarrett always make us feel like family. Wonderful wine and food recommendations. Thanks for an amazing evening!

This is the first time we've had dinner at The Tasting Room. The food was very good. We used to frequent it when they still served lunch, which we always enjoyed. They've pretty much overhauled the menu and raised the prices. The one thing that disappointed us was that they removed two items from the menu which we thought were amazing - the salmon caesar salad and their artichoke appetizer. Both were superlative dishes and well-priced.

As solid as they come. Strong bartenders with skill and some of the best apps you’ll find! The Waygu tartare is fantastic. I wish it was bigger because it’s always full, of course, there’s a reason for that. Dining room is tight, so be ready to get cozy with your neighbors.
