“I am part Polish. My great grandmother came from there to Ellis Island in 1906. She raised my Mother who is now in an assisted living environment less than 1 mile away from this place. I am always looking for little things to help brighten her day when I visit several times a week. Polka Deli in has proven to be an ideal solution and helping me meet that goal. My earliest memories are eating freshly made pierogies and kielbasa in my great grandmothers kitchen with my mom and others. Enjoying the amazing food and snacks I’ve picked up here helps both of us during these very difficult times as she is confined to a bed over 90% of the time. She only eats a few bites so my diet is not improving but getting the smile from her and as we drift in and out of memories together is priceless.“

The old town waterfront doesn’t have many(read: any) fast takeout/lunch options. This place would’ve been great just by virtue of being the only option, and yet here they are, being actually great on their own merits.

“Really nice deli, the food is great and the service is fast. Which surprised me. They actually carved the turkey in front of you for your sandwich. Not sliced off a loaf, but carved the pieces out. The gyros were delicious, along with the rice bowl. No wonder they keep a line there. It's worth the wait.“

“Generous Joe's is a staple of the Greenbelt Community and not only is it a great place to eat with good food but was also a great place to work at, Joe was a great owner and Aaron a great Manager. “Sometimes the best meals can be found in an industrial park in Beltsville. I also learned that this restaurant offers a Nigerian twist on shawarma. This meal consisted of the mouthwatering supreme shawarma with a side of fried sweet potatoes“

“A hidden gem in downtown DC. It’s tucked away near the UPS store but it’s delicious and the couple that runs the place does a great job, making fresh sandwiches. The grilled cheese is lovely and the prices are so reasonable! I highly recommend for an affordable workday lunch.“
