“I am from Baltimore and while working in Germantown I wanted something to eat other than fast food. I went into Paisano's around 530pm and was greeted so nicely by a young woman. I did not want a sub because Montgomery Co normally you get a steak um and that is what I am used too. I ordered the chicken Parmigian with pasta. Wow the sauce was amazing, pasta was perfect, the breaded chicken was covered in cheese. The garlic bread was so good. Great price, large portion that I could not finish. I told the girl behind counter that the food was awesome and it made this fatboy happy. I am 6'4 & 280lbs and I wanted to hug everyone but I did not want to scare anyone. Thank you!“

The only disappointment was the shrimp linguine. The sauce didn’t taste well-balanced and it felt like it wasn’t mixed or prepared properly, which was surprising compared to how good the rest of the food was.“

“This restaurant has become a family favorite! My husband and I regularly come for date nights, but we also love to bring the whole family. The rockfish dish is my regular order, but the veal scallopini, mussels, and the chicken piccata are other family favorites. They are all delicious and we have yet to order a dish here that isn’t perfect. We have also hired them for catering and they did an excellent job. Highly highly recommend going, you will not be disappointed.“

“My family and I have been a big fan of the Mama Lucia franchise for more than three decades, and we’ve always considered it our go-to place for authentic NY style pizza. In recent years, I’ve been getting my pies from their Olney restaurant, where I met Javier, who is their pizzaiolo (pizza chef). Not too long ago, Javier started offering a square pan pizza called Grandma’s Special. It is a carefully crafted pie with moz cheese, simple crushed tomato sauce, and basil, which makes for a very traditional and authentic pizza. While it takes more time to make (~45min), the wait is certainly worth it: what you get is a thin, airy, crispy crust, simple and balanced ingredients, and the taste is phenomenal! It reminds me of the street pizza in Italy, and the pizza my pop used to make for our family when I was a kid. Javier takes much pride in his craft, and by adding this pizza to the menu, the has raised the Mama Lucia bar even higher. Next time you visit their Olney restaurant, ask Javier and give it a try; you will not be disappointed.“

“I'm a regular at Angelo's almost every Tuesday during the fall middle school and spring high school softball seasons. I stop there between the game I umpire and teaching religious education around the corner at St. Patrick's. I will say that the quality at Angelo's is outstanding. I usually do a combination cheeseburger sub or steak and cheese. They are excellent. Plus, the fries are real fries that come out of the deep frier nice and crispy. I often will treat my religious education class to pizzas from Angelo's and they always tell me it's good pizza. Finally, they have Little Gina's pizzels. They're an Italian cookie my Italian mom would make and they are exactly like she would cook them. So, if you want some great pizza or sub plus some really crispy fries, I highly recommend Angelo's. Maybe I'll see you there some Tuesday!“

Let me say that my mother’s side is Southern Italian from outside of Naples, and was part of the immigrant generation 100 years ago that invented spaghetti and meatballs. The decor is bright, the owners are friendly, the vibe is a warm neighborhood spot. It is a short walk from the Shady Grove Metro Station, on the other side of 355 from King Farm. “Inferno, I must say that your pizza is the best I’ve eaten outside of Italy. All I can say about your food is that it easily beats all other napoletana pizza restaurants. My main issue with you is your service. I arrived with my family at 17:00, and inside, when I asked the person at the front desk for the wait time, she said it was 90 minutes. 90 minutes! That seems a little much, right? And instead of kindly telling us the wait time she said it unkindly and as though annoyed that I was there. Also these guys should give reservations. When I finally got back to the restaurant, I found myself in an atmosphere that was EXTREMELY noisy. Also, when it was time to look at the menu, we had to scan a QR code. That basically destroys the purpose of the service: Traditionally, you would always receive impeccable service. Now you can’t even give menus? I can understand the rudeness of your waiters and all slightly because they all are in high school or college, but overall I want to say that your food is excellent, but you’ve got to work on service. Maybe think of adding reservations.“
