“The food was delicious and Alejandro was a great server! He was very personable and prompt! We had the salmon cakes, banzino fish, w/greens, red beans & rice. The only thing that needed a smidge more seasoning was the fried green tomatoes. The first time I ordered them they were seasoned perfectly. I also thoroughly enjoyed the nicely cooked breakfast potatoes! This is my 3rd trip here, and I will be back!“

“What a hidden gem Dionne’s and Scarlet & Oak are! I ordered the chicken sandwich and crab fries… and YUM! My friend ordered the fish sandwich and crab fries and our total was $28. For DC, that’s inexpensive but even better, it was delicious. The entire space is beautiful, clean, and bright. This would be a great place for many different types of events. I’m already thinking about who and what I can bring back to it so we ensure the local businesses within are supported and it stays open for years to come.“

“I just found out about this place on 1/20/2026, and had my first order with them on 1/21/26 and let me tell yall, the food is so good! There’s a bit of a wait since the food is made to order, but you won’t regret it🙂‍↔️ everything has great flavor and isn’t salty or anything of the sort, it’s all balanced so well! It was so good, I came back the next night on 1/22 for the oxtail bowl😂. Oxtail are tender to perfection, the cabbage and Rasta pasta sides are soooo good! Everything is a 20/10!“

“I love the food at EllaRay’s Cafe. I go there every week. I usually call my order in and pick it up in 15 or 20 minutes. I prefer the vegetable platter and an extra side of beans. The portions are enough for two meals for me. I love breakfast there also. Glad I discovered them.“
