During a recent visit to Tony Pazzo in Mount Airy, Maryland, we had a fantastic dining experience that combined delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service. With the playoff games playing at the bar, the restaurant had a lively, energetic vibe. Our high-top table in the dining room, close to the bar, offered a perfect blend of ambiance and comfort. We started with two standout appetizers: the baked figs, which were sweet, warm, and perfectly balanced, and the crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms, which were rich, savory, and cooked to perfection. As a side, we also ordered the Focaccia with Dipping Oil—toasted focaccia served with Pazzo’s seasoned dipping oil. This was excellent, with the bread toasted perfectly and the dipping oil adding a burst of flavor. For our entrées, we tried the Bruschetta Salmon, which was herb-marinated and topped with fresh heirloom tomatoes, basil, and Parmesan cheese. It was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. We also enjoyed the Wild Mushroom Ravioli, served over a vermouth and mushroom tarragon Parmesan cream sauce. The dish was rich and creamy, with a deep, earthy flavor. While the hint of vermouth might not be for everyone, we found it to be a unique and enjoyable. The Bolognese with in-house, freshly made pasta was hearty and satisfying. The Margherita pizza was simple and fine, a classic choice for those who prefer familiar flavors. We initially ordered the Caesar salad but were brought the house salad instead. We decided to keep it, and while it was fresh and crisp, the abundance of red onions wasn’t quite to my taste, though it was easy enough to adjust. We ended the meal with tiramisu, which was creamy, light, and a perfect sweet finale. The espresso martinis were expertly made and paired beautifully with dessert. The service from Jan and Marissa was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout the evening. We also met Tony who was very friendly. We also explored the upstairs dining space, which is a charming area ideal for hosting private events. Tony Pazzo offers a great mix of authentic Italian-inspired cuisine, a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service. Whether you’re catching a game, enjoying a casual dinner, or planning an event, this restaurant is a must-visit in Mount Airy.

I was disappointed. We went out for our anniversary dinner. My husband wasn't feeling well, so we decided to stay close to home. We had not been there since Laurenzo's closed. The vibe was cute, Italian themed, so first impression was ok. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The presentation was nice with parsley garnish and sliced chicken fanned out on top of the pasta. But--it was swimming in about half a bottle of olive oil and little to no fettuccine sauce. The chicken was delicious, however. It was lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I wanted to know what happened to the pasta--did i get the wrong dish??? I saw the owner and what I am to imagine the head Chef walking around going from table to table but they never came to our table. My husband ordered pizza and his order was good. Not impressed enough to go back.

This was the second time we’ve been disappointed going here. This time, I ordered the chicken risotto and it was more of an appetizer size, despite costing $27. I could barely detect any chicken in the risotto. Furthermore, two of the suggested wine pairings were not available by the glass, only by the bottle. Our waitress was fine at first , but disappeared when we were finished eating. We sat outside for about 20 minutes and I had to eventually go inside to request our check. Never again!

The food is medicore and the pizza is very disappointing, a waste of a brick oven. The previous restaurant there (Laurienzos) made a delicious brick oven pizza, Pazzo is the chewiest brick oven pizza i have ever had. Its just a very disappointing restaurant. I went twice and won’t go again, especially for the cost, food taste much lower quality than the presentation. I hope another restaurant gets to take over and try again

My friend and I had lunch today. The service was excellent, the food was great and the atmosphere was really good. We both had their soup of the day, Italian chicken noodle soup. It was delicious. They immediately serve bottled water to the table and the waitress brought me another ice tea when I needed one. 1️⃣ had the hot Italian panini and house made chips. It was excellent. My friend also had a panini that she loved. Cloth napkins, friendly waitress, good food and service, couldn’t be better.

Great food! Great Service (Sarah)! Great Atmosphere! This was our first visit since Tony Pazzo’s opened in Mt. Airy! The food was exceptional - we ordered the olive and fig goat cheese tapenade as an appetizer for the table which was amazing. Each of us ordered various entrees but the standout was the homemade ravioli with their family recipe pomodoro sauce. Kudos to Sarah and the staff for making our experience delightful!! We will be back!

Wow! Mount Airy needed a nicer restaurant and Tony Pazzo delivered. The ambiance is so pretty and we love the bar. We had the orange crush ($8) and pazzo mojito ($11) both which were delicious. I got the bolognese ($24) and my husband got the Alfredo ($29) and they were phenomenal. The pasta was fresh and had a good bounce and the portion size was great. Can't wait to go back and try the pizzas!

Update: we've been back a few times and enjoyed all their other dishes (including the pizza and their happy hour menu!) The Belgian chocolate mousse and tiramisu are heavenly. Can't recommend this place enough!

The Seafood Ravioli was excellent! This dish alone tells me the kitchen knows what they are doing. A busy Friday night and the service was great. The atmosphere is a nice casual mix between bar area and restaurant. It's a winner.

This downtown gem offers some of the best pizza I've ever had. The crust is that perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with just the right amount of char from their brick oven. Their toppings are fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned without overwhelming the balance of the pie.
