“The ambiance was great and felt just at home. The was 10/10 and the service was great. We ordered and received our food in no time. There's options to eat in restaurant or take out. They have a wide array of options on their menu but it does change depending on the day. They also sell Dominican sodas which is a rare find in MD. Overall I would definitely return and recommend others come as well“
“Amazing food and service. Our waiter, Niko, was very attentive and pleasant, and all of our dishes came out fresh and in a timely manner. Love the overall atmosphere, too; definitely a place that invites you to linger longer. My only complaint is that the cocktails could use some tweaking. The Vieja Escuela was far too smokey, and it obscured any subtle flavors from the rum/rye/other ingredients.“
“From the first time I had Tio G’s Empanadas, I was hooked! I go to Lexington Market every Saturday And stopping to pick up eight empanadas for the week is mandatory. The dough is flaky, and the empanada is filled with your choice of beef Cheese, Chicken or crab with shrimp there are two different types of sauces, but the orange dipping sauce is my favorite. I cannot in this review without saying that the customer service is amazing! If you are in the Baltimore area, stop by Tio G’s in Lexington Market.“
“Lovely little spot. Service was an 11/10. We got the meatballs and empanadas to start. Those were all very good. We got the ravioli for an entree. It tasted phenomenal, though I felt the cook on it was a bit under. We also got a side of brussel sprouts, they also tasted amazing, but I personally like them a bit more crispy. All told the food was great even if I could find a few small details to nit pick.“
“A must if you're craving Peruvian chicken. It was my first time at the physical location - I've gotten delivery from here so many times, it's probably embarrassing but there's nothing I love more than peruvian chicken. The location is hard to get to by car - it's by the PowerPlant in inner harbor so parking is tricky. The store itself is huge - and the best part about going in person is their sauce station - when you get delivery they charge you per small container of their amazing aioli and green salsa - but not in person, they have lot of little containers and you can fill as many cups as you want for your salsa, and I'm a saucy girl. I got the half chicken (white and dark meat and their plantains and yucca. It was a dark cold day and there were a lot of people coming in and out, it's a popular spot for sure. The staff is fast and efficient, not the best at answering any questions you have but it's the place you come when you know exactly what you're getting.“
“On the hill is my favorite coffee shop in Baltimore. Food & drinks are consistently good and reasonably priced. You can't beat $6.50 for a bacon egg & cheese bagel. They have online ordering which makes it super convenient to order coffee on my way to work. They also have those cane sugar sodas on draft which are so good if you are going on a coffee break, I don't know where else you can get a fountain cream soda.“
“We are new here and went to Baltimore for another restaurant that decided to close from 3:30-4:30p, and we got there right before 3:30p we decided to walk around and look for another place to eat & this was the first sign we saw that had food & cocktails. When we looked it up to see the food menu, we were pleasantly surprised to find they served Peruvian food. Being that I am married to a Peruvian man, we can be a bit skeptical and quite picky as to what is considered "authentic. This place did NOT disappoint. We ordered the Papa a la huancaína which was delicious. It's not on the menu but if you ask for it, they will serve it. We ordered the Chaufa & the Lomo Saltado, jalea, The Saltado had a lot of steak and it was tender and flavorful. They made the best huancaina outside of when we make it @ home, and the chaufa & jalea were perfect. The portions are a good size, we shared most amongst 4, and their prices are quite reasonable for the portions and quality. Can't wait to take my MIL when she comes to visit in 2 weeks.“
“Absolutely spectacular - I haven't had chilequiles this good since my trip to Mexico City, and I get them as often as I can. The tepache suave was delicious and went perfectly. Beans and rice were perfection.I genuinely might go back tonight.Vegetarian options: All the Mexican classic vegetarian options were available, and would be a spectacular choice“
“Amazing food, people, and vibes! Our server, Anthony, was incredibly personable and gave us top-notch service catering to our every request and inquiry. He was very kind and jovial and knew exactly how to match our energy!! Also the carne asada and crunchy mahi mahi tacos were to die for.“
“Visited recently with a rather large and chaotic party and they really did their best to keep up with everyone and the food was great! There was a minor snafu with the checks when we were all done but they did their best and made things right. Would recommend and would visit again!“
“I thought that their empanadas were wonderful. They offer a wide variety of flavors (the chorizo potato was my favorite!), and they were all hits. Very filling, and they don’t skimp on the meat. I visited during a pretty slow period (weekday afternoon) and the staff was very kind and wore gloves when handling my food. They also have Mexican Coke and other not-often-seen drinks for sale. Will visit again! Also: pertaining to their name (which seemed to have made a few people mad), I agree that Baltimore is its own thing apart from DC, but this empanada place also has a primary location in Gaithersburg, which is squarely in the DMV.“
“The food was great and classic: -The chicken quesadilla was good, but I had to use plenty of hot sauce to keep things flavorful. They should add salsa verde to go with it. 7.9/10 - I enjoyed the tacos. Classic street but with pico de fallo and a slice of avocado and some salsa verde in the side. Perfect. My only complaint was the lack of additional meats other than chicken and steak. 8.2/10 Note: the bang for the buck with the food is great. Service was lovely. Very nice workers, who speak both English and Spanish. When I came in, I decided I would like to practice my Spanish and they were very nice about that. I ordered everything in Spanish and speak with them for a bit in small talk. The ambiance is classic cheap Mexican restaurant, in a good way. They clean the tables well and add good hot sauce on them.“
“He recommended the place, it doesn't look so luxurious but the food ? is delicious, an authentic flavor ?? and you find a stocked grocery store that will make you remember your childhood, churros, coffee, donuts and much more ?? pinol and don't forget to play the party balloon game ? ?“
“Why hadn’t I eaten here before? OMG!The ladies are super attentive, very nice and helpful. You can feel the good vibes from the moment you arrive. And what can I tell you about the food???Too tasty and with an exquisite flavor. I can say without fear of being wrong that they have been the best birria tacos I have ever eaten. The flavor of the meats is on a different level. The flavor of the chicken of the “taquitos dorados” is on another level! And not to mention the fresh agua fresca de piña (I didn’t even take a picture of it so delicious).Thank you girls for everything! Here is a Puerto Rican couple who will definitely visit them again when we are in that area.God bless you!“
