What a wonderful experience with Michael! He was able to recommend 3 dishes that were absolutely the best... fish fillet with the wine sauce, cabbage with rice cake and chicken, and wow! The crabmeat with pork soup dumpling....!!!
Michael served us the piece'de resistance - red bean paste with pine nuts pastry. ... freshly cooked, so yummy!
Service was excellent, and the place had a homey feel. My friend and I were able to have a conversation even with a few customers...read full review

Food was okay. The more authentic dishes were not bad but pricy. The american style chinese food was down right bad. Service was fast but terse. The store looks a bit run down
This place is a certified local gem. Only thing they can improve on is a bigger place. Authentic and best wok hei I've tried in around town and I frequently visited rockville growing up. Highly recommend the pan fried soup dumplings. They make the best in town and it's not even close!

Shanghai Taste is a restaurant that offers a variety of dishes, including soup dumplings, sliced roast beef and tendon, braised soy sauce duck, fried buns, soy bean milk and fried bread stick, Shumai, Hainan Chicken with rice, noodle scallion, and Pork + bean curd. The cashew chicken and string beans are particularly popular. The restaurant offers a cash discount and the service is good, with attentive staff who give helpful food suggestions. The food is prepared quickly, and the portions are generous. The place is small but kept very clean. However, seating may be a bit cramped, and some dishes can have a strong soy sauce or oil flavor. The soup dumplings, sliced roast beef and tendon, and fried buns are highly recommended, along with pork soup dumplings and chicken in back bean sauce. It’s known for serving some of the most authentic Shanghainese food in the area, making it a great choice for those craving genuine Shanghai flavors. Reservations are advised because the restaurant is often busy.
