The inside is decorated fun. I like the design and the art in the restaurant. The food is delicious and comes in a timely manner. There’s good seating options.
I love this restaurant to the point that I drive from Alexandria to go to it.
I’ve never had food that I haven’t liked there. The rice bowls are perfect.
The staff is very friendly.
The atmosphere and overall design of the restaurant is vibrant and very photogenic.
It’s a popular spot, usually full, but I don’t have much issue getting a table for two relatively quickly.
A more accurate price point per person would be $15-25.
Love the food and service
If Willy Wonka opened a Thai restaurant, this would be it!
Walking up to Thai Chef felt like stepping into a Thai art museum that binge-watched HGTV and then said, “Let’s go full color explosion.” I mean seriously — stained-glass vibes, hanging lanterns, neon stars, and even a flying horse. If Willy Wonka went on a food tour through Bangkok, this is the restaurant he’d open.
Now for the main corse (see what I did there?):
🍛 Red Curry – This dish didn’t just slap; it high-fived my taste buds with a warm, creamy, spicy hug. It was so good I wanted to write it a thank-you note.
🥗 Papaya Salad – Tangy, spicy, crunchy… basically the Beyoncé of salads. It gave me som tam to remember.
🍜 Pad See Ew – These noodles were so deliciously wide and chewy, I almost asked them to elopi with me. The beef and chicken versions both had wok this way energy.
The vibe inside? Let’s just say I was Thai’d up with joy. There’s so much to look at, you’ll forget your phone exists — and honestly, that’s rare. It’s like dining inside a kaleidoscope that also serves jasmine rice.
Service? Fast and friendly. The staff delivered food quicker than I could make a dad joke — which is saying something.
If you’re in the mood for un-pho-gettable flavor, punbelievable decor, and a meal that’s Thai-fully satisfying, don’t walk — runglee-run to Thai Chef.
Would I come back? You basil your sweet chili I would.
Food was absolutely incredible, highly recommend
Visited during weekday evening. Were immediately seated. Food came out rather quickly. Waitress was very polite.
Thai chef has been a great place and has been incredible due to its vegetarian and vegan options, however it has recently removed some of the flexibility in its menu, such as being unable to replace meat with tofu options or even just removing meat from items (namely fried rices). This, and a downgrade in the quality of food such as tofu bring much lower quality has negatively impacted vegetarian and vegan customers.
The service was great, the food was ok
The place is gorgeous and the service was great. Not sure if it was my menu choices but the food was ok
Food was not authentic Thai but good enough. Asking for hot sauce gets you tiny portion in a to go plastic instead a proper assortment of spice like other places. However, the thing that irked us the most was the server’s desire to kick us out even though the place was not busy and many hours left to closing time. Bill was brought before even one from the four of us has finished eating. Clean up of the non finished shared dishes started before some us are done. Tell your servers to please give people time to enjoy their food or convert it to a fast food place and then we know.

Restaurantji Recommends
Food was good, not amazing but just good. Which is fine, I only had one dish which was the drunken noodles and it was yummy, I probably should’ve gotten it spicy. The Thai milk teas was disappointing tho, the first Thai tea I had was at PHO NOM NOM, and it was sooo bomb! But this place served a small $5 glass that tasted that was half sugar, half ice. The restaurant was pretty and the staff were nice. Probably won’t be back any time soon tho

The food is incredible! The flavors are unique and extra good! I say unique bc we have tried over 20 Thai restaurants in the area and the flavors were different and amazing! We got the Massaman Curry A+, the Ka Prao A-, and we tried the Southern Comfort A++! So the first two are our basics we try at every Thai restaurant. They were very good, BUT the Southern Comfort was almost just like Ka Prao but multiplied by 10!!! It was AMAZING…lots of lemongrass made the whole dish pop!!!
It’s kind of clubby/circusy inside, but we got ours to go.
