About The Crab Trap

The Crab Trap is a highly praised restaurant that offers delicious seafood and classic American dishes from a food truck setting. Customers frequently mention the quality of their crab cakes, with the lump crab cake on a fresh salad and vinaigrette being described as delicious and flavorful. The crab hush puppies are also a popular choice, praised for being moist inside and crispy outside. The menu includes other favorites such as the “The trap burger,” which many say is amazing and flavorful, and the chicken sandwich, often described as equally delicious. The fries are consistently highlighted as some of the best ever, crunchy, flaky, and plentiful. The crab cake sandwich with boardwalk fries is another standout, with perfect ratios and flavors that remind diners of being oceanside. Customers appreciate the professionalism and friendly service, noting genuine smiles and positive interactions, which add to the overall experience. Although the cook sometimes takes a bit longer due to being solo, the wait is well worth it for the quality of food served. The restaurant’s location at a gas station lot adds a casual, fun vibe, and many find it a great alternative to more distant seafood spots like Baltimore’s Jerry’s Seafood or Faidley's. Overall, The Crab Trap is regarded as a hidden gem, offering consistently great food and service in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

The crab trap prepared and served a delicious broiled lump crab cake on top of a fantastic fresh salad with a yummy vinaigrette dressing. The cook was solo this afternoon so it took him a while longer than usual, and the parking lot was a bit chaotic, but this just added to the fun of ordering this level of meal from a truck. We also had the crab hushpuppies, which were moist inside and crispy on the outside.
The Chicken Chesapeake Sandwich was a day changer! I added an optional crab cake and changed the cheese to cheddar and it was a thick chunk of delicious.
Jumbo crab cake, Maryland corn on the cob & devilled eggs... Prepared professionally in a discreet food truck/trailer parked in the grass on the Exxon gas station lot at the intersection of Gude Drive & Route 355, simply marvelous. Now I don't have to drive all the way out to Jerry's Seafood in Bowie or Faidley's in Baltimore for a proper Maryland Crab Cake!
