“We can't get enough of Ugly Pie. Probably in there every other week. Generous portions when you buy a slice, perfect sized pints. Theres so much to choose from on any day and something for everyone. Thry even have savory pies now (meat and vegetarian!) honestly its hard to choose!Their prices are affordable and very reasonable! All the folks are super nice and friendly,, even when its really busy. Its part of why we're in so often.I work in a kitchen myself and I hype Ugly Pie to my coworkers. “The macaroons are incredible. If you've never tried one, i urge you to do so. Going to Europe for my 11th time and I can say with certainty that these are the best macaroons I've ever had. I'm actually not a fan of the cupcakes (specifically the cake part, i find it dense and heavy.... perhaps because of the freezing?). I did try a dozen or so cupcakes over a year simply for the creams, mousses and generally any filling or topping Theresa makes. She is a master of flavors, and her filings are incredibly smooth and light.I believe this lady would be a huge success and thrive anywhere in the world, but lucky for us, for whatever reason, she's here.“
“We had been trying to get curanto, and finally succeeded here. As is evident from the picture, a single order was a large amount of food. It was all excellent, apart from the mashed (?) potatoes--which served merely to glue shellfish together. We didn't miss that though, as the shellfish, chicken, smoked pork, sausage, and baked/boiled potato were easily sufficient to satisfy. Service was enthusiastic and fairly fast. (Would definitely help as a customer to speak Spanish, but that is not surprising!) We had 20:00 reservation for dinner, and the place was nearly full. Luckily, there were a couple of tables on the outside deck, as our reserved table was directly in front of the live musical performer! Quite a good experience. Also, to us, a good bang for the buck. The curanto and a bottle of wine left us full and happy for 25.000 CLP (including 10% propina).“
“Love their cakes. We come here for every birthday now. We have 7 people in our family and luckily the birthdays are spread out. But we get the strawberry Smith island cake and it is amazing. We did the pumpkin spice cake in September and I loved it. In my opinion I like it alot better then the strawberry cake.“
